So, if the Internet didn't exist, and you wanted to know about what was happening in the world without paying money, you'd go to the library and you'd spend a few hours reading dozens of recent periodicals for free.

You can still do this.

It's interesting how empowering people and giving them easy access to information also makes them lose capacities that they've always had.
