Attempts coup on foreign government, gets numerous people killed............

BUT gets sentenced for illegal arms smuggling, and 'conspiracy' to commit a crime.

Not like he actually did directly attempt a coup. Not like the CIA knew about every last detail and didn't intervene before it happened.

It's good that it all caught up with him in some way, but honestly, I think it's because he started blabbering about CIA and USG involvement. He revealed details of the whole Guaido plot already. The CIA denied as much as they could. If he got caught by Venezuela they would've had him admit it all on record. It's much safer for this dangerous moron to be in a US prison, far away from any sort of microphone. 20 years it'll all blow over. This dickhead will retire running a speedboat business in Florida, if Florida isn't already completely submerged by then.

Also, it's well timed for the US to be able to say they prosecuted the most recent blatant attempt at imperialism in Venezuela.
