I am going to need general anesthesia for a surgery, and am unfortunately aware of the fact that a significant percentage of people experience pain and conscious paralysis under it. What do I do? (hexbear.net)

i heard about this! lots of self-reported professionals in reddit threads seemed to be skeptical of the idea they wouldn't notice a huge heart rate increase due to the terrifying situation. except one person who dismissed the idea because they apparently always saw a heart rate increase when they started working on patients after applying anesthesia. either a reddit troll or a horrible doctor

Ya, it's definitely something that can happen if the folks aren't doing their jobs well, but if everyone is focused and taking their time it is seemingly very rare. You got this! Care-Comrade meow-hug
