I'm 38, I've had a few cavities, but somehow never a proper cavity search.

You should ask your TSA agent the next time youre at an american airport

[-] spittingimage@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Not many people can say that. You must pay a lot of attention to your brushing.

Someone can feel free to correct me but I've read that it's also partly genetic.

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 months ago

It has to be genetic. My partner brushes AND flosses and I’ve never flossed and had a period of my life raving and staying over places without a toothbrush. Brushing sometimes. I’m in my late 30s and have never had a cavity. They are 30 and have had lots of them.

And exposure to fluoride! Fluoride makes strong teeth!

38 here, same. The only dental work I've had done was orthodontics.

[-] Zathras@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

Likewise. I had braces twice, a bunch of baby teeth, all wisdom teeth and 2 permanent teeth pulled because my "mouth was too small". I have some fucked up dreams but the scariest ones are those where my teeth are loose or falling out. I think I have dental PTSD...
