Some Lemmy clients offer keyword filtering if you really want to get aggressive about filtering out US election stuff.

I want to control the percentage of stuff each sub shows me. I want to subscribe to news and world news and politics, but then 100% of my feed is politics, despite the fact that 99% of my subscriptions are NOT politically based.

That’s mainly an issue of scale. The niche communities don’t have as much activity day to day so you see that stuff less
