There is a lot wrong with capitalist India, but to say that it has failed "in a way no other poor nation has" seems a bit hyperbolic. This is the country that is currently electrifying almost all of its rail lines and is doing so at a very fast rate. Modi is a fascist freak and the BJP sucks bjp-cool but there's no reason to believe that India is uniquely failed. India struggles with poverty, capitalism, and reactionary ideology just like many other countries in the Global South.

India takes two steps forward while it’s not even standing on a flat surface.

What about sanitation, food, energy? It’s really good news it’s electrifying its railroads.
