Why not ban buildings, too? They just get in the way of cars.
Motion to ban stoplights and stop signs for obstructing traffic
From what I've seen online of Indian traffic, that motion seems to have passed a long time ago
that's exactly what many amercian cities are doing
That's not a real picture. Please tell me it isn't. I didn't know it could get more carbrain than where I'm at
It's a real picture of downtown Houston from 1980's. Seems like things have improved since then but looking at google maps, the downtown is still like 50% parking.
Edit: found a map of parking spaces in Houston. It's bad
Ah yes that will definitely solve the problem. In fact let's take this to its logical conclusion and remove all of the buildings and sidewalks and everything else and just pave the entire city
Snowpiercer but it’s a giant highway
Snowpiercer is a train, with mini-trains inside. We can only dream about it.
Life is a highway, I wanna ride it all life long
That is basically an episode of Doctor Who
That would in a way be a teeny tiny bit more logical, because it creates more space, but removing the busses just force more people to use cars (as opposed to just incentivizing). Like this is just immediately making traffic worse
because they can use BRT roads instead right?
Government bans vaccines amid small pox outbreak
RFK Jr moment
(It might have been measles, but either way he killed about a hundred kids)
Replacing every bus with 12 to 40 cars will surely reduce traffic during rush hour!
India is interesting because ever since their economy started slowing down in 2016, the top 5-20% stopped buying small affordable cars and motorcycles because they couldn't afford it while the top 5% started buying more expensive, larger cars. (i'm using percentiles because the media refers to the top 20% as the 'middle class' even though they are nowhere in the middle).
and the Government has been obsessed with building highways and widening existing highways even in places where it isn't environmentally suitable, its been the 'growth' strategy. it increases the GDP once off but doesn't have much impact the incomes of the working class, most of the spending ends up leaking into private contractors' bank accounts and imports.

I mean… yeah. We want billionaires and contractors to become richer so then they’ll trickle it down to us. It’s basic economics. They’re learning from the best in the west
We also have a nearly 90% tax on cars and can't drive these cars after 10 years for Diesel and 15 years for Petrol. Plus the government mixes Ethanol in the fuel to further fuck up the vehicles all while fuel is already far more expensive than it's international rate and we have access to Russian fuel for even cheaper than that.
Infrastructure is bottom tier with bridges falling apart everytime it Rains a bit. No actual sewage system so water clogs everytime it Rains a bit. Roads are dogshit and riddled with traffic. Most people live like cockroaches in fucked up environments. Honestly I would rather move to Europe than live here.
They are just making life worse for poorer commuters to no actual gain for the slightly less poorer commuters. I can't imagine the rich in New Dehli don't just use helicopters at this point. Absolute incompetence.
Dictatorship of the bourgeoisie
traffic is solved
I am banning calories so that people can have more room in their bellies for water in arid regions
Couldn’t help but laugh tbh
What else one can do from the opposite side of the world?
When was this article written?
Ok here's the article. I don't want Hexbear to get mad at something that isn't even happening anymore, but unfortunately this is still happening.
Next they'll force everyone to be in their own car, no carpooling!
India is really going backwards
real hours
Literally brain dead people are running the Indian government nowadays.
That's American AF.
