I think that perhaps you have just given up, because I don’t think that’s at all what the Dems are doing at the moment.

Actually, I do in fact think Trump would make things much worse. To think he wouldn’t is denying the inevitable.

To think NO change has happened is false and not inserting any nuance into American politics.

I think that perhaps you have just given up, because I don’t think that’s at all what the Dems are doing at the moment.

Shit is getting worse even with a Democrat in office. It's not that I've "given up" it's that I see it for what it is and I'm not interested in democrat gaslighting.

It's delusional to see this as anything other than Democrats not wanting to actually deliver on their promises. They want to be the party of vague threats.

To think NO change has happened is false and not inserting any nuance into American politics.

Roe v Wade was overturned under Biden.

Homelessness can now be considered a crime that isn't immune from cruel and unusual punishments, this happened under Biden.

The president was declared immune from the law under Biden.

The genocide is quickly progressing into a regional war (which is worse) under Biden.

Food prices and the costs of living have continued to rise and will continue to rise under Biden, and he will offer no meaningful change in that regard.

These are the changes that have occurred under the Democrats.

You can look at this info directly from the White House.

Literally a campaign ad.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago

Did you look at anything else I linked. Lol. Also, campaign for who? Biden out.

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

An ad for Biden is essentially an ad for Kamala, since she's done nothing on her own.

Harris visited a Planned Parenthood clinic on March 14, a historic first for any president or vice president while in office

When you're totally not desperate to come up with something.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago

“A historic first” meaning had never happened before. But okay, continue to troll lol.

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

”Visiting a place” isn't an achievement worth mentioning.

Ah yes, environmental policies under biden, like more offshore drilling, taxing solar cells from china. Very cool! Ending deforestation by 2030 (and by that, it means we won't stop and most people will forget about it by then. Be carbon neutral by 2050, boy howdy, I bet so many people will remember that promise in 30 years.

2nd source shows a chart claiming the cost of living is going down, when in fact, its only going down in comparison to previous years in bidens presidency, and there are several other charts like this, or charts overselling minor changes as huge wins. Both are misleading.

3rd source is like others said a campaign ad, but not many people here are gonna throw their hands up and cheer over things like "support ukraine" and "counter terrorism" since we all universally hate amerikkka.

The last source can very easily be summarized by people having eyes. No amount of microscopic changes are going to win over people who are struggling pay check to pay check.

Well, it’s clear that my supporting evidence is nothing against your disbelief in any meaningful change in the country — or, just your consistent pessism. I concede to this conversation, but not the dead end path you seem to want to go on which involves no conversation on any meaningful solutions. Just sarcasm related to anything I’ve i clouded in my prior comment.

[-] Procapra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

"Meaningful solutions"

Revolution.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago

Good luck with that revolution you speak of.

[-] Procapra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Good luck with voting for the cop that supports arming Israel in a genocide.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Okay! Good luck with whatever you choose to not do in this upcoming election!

[-] Procapra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

I'll be voting. Just not for kamela harris.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago
[-] Procapra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Ofc. There is no other meaningful solution. Revolution is the only solution and I will gladly take my part in it, as will literally every other hexbear or lemmygrad user.

[-] wowyoureallysaidthat@reddthat.com 0 points 2 years ago

Okay so like you and 200 other people against all military and governments on the planet. Good luck. 😂

[-] Procapra@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

I support plenty of military. I support the military of the former USSR, I support the military of the DPRK, I support the military of Cuba.

I don't support a settler colonial state committing genocide.

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
