I don't know who said that, but the sentiment resonates very strongly with me. "I remember when the internet was more than five big websites, with each one just posting content from the other four".

edit: found it. "I'm old enough to remember when the Internet wasn't a group of five websites, each consisting of screenshots of text from the other four."
