Blinders? Really??
It doesn't matter what a candidate says at some rally somewhere, what matters is who wins the election.
Following politics right now isn't productive, because it's just a bunch of mud-slinging both directions. In this case, this "gaffe" isn't a gaffe, it's just him talking about events in different parts of the country to make a broader point about immigration. The discourse we have shouldn't be about trying to make Trump look like he has dementia (doesn't seem like it?), but showing how his policies are absolutely ridiculous. In this case, he said a small town in Pennsylvania had a 2000% increase in immigration, which sounds like instead of having 1 person come to town, they had 20. Or more likely, instead of having an average of 1 person every 10 years, they had 2 people in one year. We should be calling out that BS, not making up stories about him forgetting where he is, that's not productive at all.
Maybe have a bi-weekly post about current poll numbers and any interesting policy statements. But boosting posts that take statements out of context to pat our own backs is stupid.
The person I replied to implied they don't want to see anything about politics. They are going to have a bad time on the Internet. Always. But especially now.
I'm pretty sure that was in reference to this community, which is usually about memes and whatnot. I'm guessing they still keep tabs on politics, just in other venues, like on the actual news or political communities.
Yeah, but like I said, twitter was never ever non-political. So even if we narrow the scope to only this community, their comment implies unrealistic expectations.
