If you feel it’s time for a change of scene, here’s something to consider: starting in 2024, young Canadian adults can live and work in Iceland for a year.

Canadians can already do this in Commonwealth countries as they are part of the Commonwealth

I've never been aware of a way to do this.

And now I'm old. Shower me with pity, and maybe a little knowledge?

It's a bogus claim. the Commonwealth does NOT have a system of free movement or labour. The claim is likely rooted in antiquated monarchist talking points.

The 34 available programs are available in the IEC website here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadians/international-experience-canada.html

This is a smaller number than the 56 commonwealth nations, and includes non-commonwealth nations. For example, India, Pakistan, and South Africa have no IEC program.
