I think this is largely the backstory of the actual purge movies. Or something, idk, I didn't watch them.
I've heard that some of the movies have pretty subtle messages towards it being class warfare, but as always with this sort of thing, the CHUDs only accept the most surface level interpretation from "don't build the torment nexus"
"Wow, it would be dope to be able to shoot my neighbours with slightly too long grass!" - Least unhinged HOA guy watching The Purge
HOA guys are literally the villains of the Purge franchise and it's not all that subtle about it.
