Imagine being so bazinga for le nostalgia movie that you pay for a power loader that doesn't power load. That'd be like buying Hicks' shotgun for dae le epic close encounters but it shoots lasers instead of shotgun shells.

If you dare to read that whitepaper, keep in mind no gameplay is actually talked about. It's not unlike NFT "games" that babble endlessly about what they intend to do with the market and paying customers, but stop there.

Putting a horror twist on popular children’s story characters who are in the public domain has become a popular trend these days. Multiple Mickey Mouse horror films are making their way out into the world since the earliest Mickey cartoons are now public domain, filmmakers are working on horror versions of Goldilocks, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, and a whole cinematic universe is being built out of horror movies based on the likes of Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, Peter Pan, and others. Another project in this line-up of films designed to tarnish the reputation of childhood favorites is The 7 Dwarves, which puts a terrifying twist on the story of Snow White and is scheduled for release in March of 2025.

Promising a spine-chilling ride that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats, The 7 Dwarves has the following synopsis: In The 7 Dwarves, Snow White narrowly escapes the clutches of the evil witch, only to find herself lost in the eerie depths of the dark forest. But her nightmare is far from over. She soon becomes the prey of a sadistic group of dwarves (Cranky, Jolly, Drowsy, Meek, Snuffy, Wheezy, Chief, and Ditzy). Far from being her protectors, these sadistic dwarves hunt her relentlessly, forcing Snow White to fight for survival. As she outwits and eliminates each dwarf one by one, the tension rises to a blood-soaked climax in this spine-chilling horror reimagining.

Colin Patrick Ryan is directing the film from a script by producer Chris Hoyt and executive producer Galen Christy. A press release notes, “Combining suspense, horror, and a reimagined take on a familiar tale, The 7 Dwarves promises to captivate horror fans and fairytale enthusiasts alike.” Christy adds, “We’re thrilled to bring audiences a bold, new vision of Snow White like they’ve never seen before. By turning this beloved tale into a nightmarish survival story, fans of the original will be captivated by the unexpected twists and turns that horror lovers will be talking about for years to come!“

The real horror for me is how lazy, formulaic, and pandering this slop sounds like already.

Snow White getting a horror gimmick isn't even new.

It'll probably be just their collection of AI tools and systems, which they are trademarking to sell/lease to third parties to use later.

But why would you want to opt out of this, Luddite?

I've always known Warframe is like an asteroid belt of content updates where each asteroid floats somewhat independently of one another but trying to put it together is actually discouraging me from diving in.

I see stuff that sounds very cool, like some new fancy way of upgrading my old Bo Prime to be a stat stick of increased sprint and bullet jump, but then its like "oh you have to go to yet another grindy hub and collect a lot of stuff and probably do daily leveling tasks with local rep" which was what eventually made me set the game aside; during The New War that part with the mandatory Necramech sequence was such a story-momentum-stopping bottleneck (because I didn't have a Necramech and I didn't do the grinds necessary to get one because I hated that particularly goopy and unpleasant hub area) that I paid some real money, got a quick and dirty Necramech unlock, and only then completed it, felt tired... and logged out for years.

Also, as silly as it may sound, the notion of "feeding" my old Warframes to the Helminth to min-max my action bar felt so whiplash-like counter-intuitive to everything my Operator's story had built up to at that point that the decision to stop logging in was partially pushed by that once that was the new hotness content.

I remembered this resonating with me:

I guess my question is this: where does an old veteran even start with the avalanche of new content? Is it all rep grinds from content asteroid to content asteroid from here on? As silly as it may be to ask: is it still fun?
