I think he's absolutely thrilled.

McConnell might be a shadow of his former self, but his entire career his focus above all else was appointing young conservative judges.

He might detest trump, but he still got what he wanted from trump.

Imagine if Bernie got to name all the judges trump did

I'm guessing he's just trying to rehabilitate his legacy before he croaks. Democrats love trotting out Republicans that don't like Trump. Bush and Cheney are now more loved by the Democratic establishment than they are by Republicans, and nobody in the media mentions that they're war criminals.
