I think AI bot-soldiers could be used to replace real soldiers who are now protecting borders and monuments around the world, not sure about real soldiers used in defense. In that case I think drones will play the major role for a long time. The AI used in soldier helmets might help but not so much if you consider it's already used in the form of algorithms: AI will be just an upgrade
