From what I gather it might be the best way for me going forward to have a new PC. I see them as low as $150 on amazon that come with windows so I'd have to nuke the SSD and install something like Mint on it instead.

Maybe we can get a fundraiser going for me so I can finally get a new laptop and put this 12 year old piece of junk to bed.

They're cheap(edit: and available second hand), they're well made, they work good, they got that keyboard nipple mouse.

keyboard nipple mouse.

I've never used one before and had no clue that's what it was for. I have a kb+mouse rn I use on this laptop.

You press it with a little bit of force (just to have the finger not slip away) and then move in some direction, the cursor will follow. Usability ranges from "fun gimmick" to "I have heavy gloves, the nipple is my only mouse input"

nipple makes for some neat gameplay tricks too

Allows you to use mouse input without moving your hands away from the keyboard. It's great for when you need to do small mouse movements in between typing like clicking on cells in a spreadsheet or clicking reply on comments.

cheap

Not in my country! Only the E-series which people say are lower quality could be considered "cheap" if you buy it new.

Second hand however...

I meant second hand. I've never looked at new prices.

T series start at about $1000 USD, and tank rapidly in price after about a year old.

I got a T14 gen 2 AMD right before gen 3 came out for $300 brand new.
