a weird side effect of the marginally more tolerant of non-exclusively heterosexual orientation is that, as a guy, I get 1000% more solicitations for me to check out some random guy's trout or just a straight up dick pic as a conversation opener. as a guy that sometimes struggles with making opening small talk, it's a counter-intuitive strategem I can't imagine making sense.

I don't respond and just block/ignore, but a older (mid 40s) lady friend of mine--who has been putting up with it for longer--has this move where she saves it and randomly sends back a different one from her collection, like as a "cool, check out this one" response. and apparently it has a 100% record for terminating the conversation immediately while also amusing her.
