I can never remember the theorist, but this is an aspect of patriarchy and misogyny. Patriarchal men learn to associate femininity with negativity, and as a result their ability to truly admire women is stunted. A patriarchal man may value aspects of women he is able to conquer because they make his conquering of her more impressive to other men, but his true admiration, respect, and even deference is always reserved for the actions and accomplishments of other men.
Edit: I would also imagine Tate is aware of this. I could imagine him saying as much and just framing it as a good thing. “Admiring women is a homosexual act” or whatever.
He has said this, nearly verbatim. Repeatedly. Sex with women for pleasure is gay af now in the Tate-o-sphere. Procreation only!
I remember this.
The theorist argued that patriarchal culture is homoerotic because it is, by definition, man loving and man worshipping
This and he is also a closeted homosexual.
