Fun fact: if one person with an iPhone is messaging someone with an android using Google Messages, and the iPhone user hasn't enabled RCS chats, any reactions the iPhone user sends will show up on the Android as a message reaction, but reactions the Android user sends will show up as something like "[phone number] reacted '😂' to 'so I bought an iPhone today...'" which is pretty funny. How the tables turn I guess

Yes but you don't understand. It's all to save the children, man

spoiler/s

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children

Jokes aside, I don't understand what's happening at all. The gambling ad restrictions are a good thing, imo, but the misinformation bill was just going to cause trouble, as is this ridiculous social media age verification hoo haa they're trying to implement

And didn't require so much gold. Unbalanced af and unrealistic tbh

Also worthwhile noting that not everybody on the English speaking internet is American ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't matter how much trump is forced down my throat, it doesn't change shit because I live on the other side of the world. A little bit of awareness and courtesy every once in a while wouldn't go astray.

Ugh, same. It really doesn't help that most of the time people seem to refuse to actually describe their image. We need "TW: Musk/Trump" to become standard for easy blocking

I actually thought I had dyslexia for a while because of this, plus if I don't read correctly (which for me requires memorising each word in a sentence, then interpreting it as a sentence, as opposed to reading each word and interpreting it by itself), I get the order of words mixed up

I actually find MS Word really clunky, laggy, buggy, and generally intuitive. LO I only find to be clunky

It fell out of the air and died right next to me. Spotted in Melbourne Australia. Quite small, a bit smaller than the tip of a standard flathead screwdriver

A bit of Google Lens'ing suggests it looks quite similar to Eupeodes lapponicus, but that's a European/North American species. I'm a bit awestruck by the pattern

No stinger

This is a follow up to that time that they baited him into self-incrimination and fed into/encouraged his fixation back in 2021

So I ordered a GPU from MWave and they sent me a $100 naked wines voucher discount thing. But, being grog, it's 18+. And guess who's not 18+? Me. And it has a 30 day activation time frame, so won't be particularly helpful for when I do turn 18. Nobody I know drinks wine, or wants it, so free to a good home.

Voucher would have about 20 days left on it, assuming they printed it the same day they posted my GPU

Full T's and C's:

"To use this voucher, you must be 18 years or older. This voucher entitles first time Naked wines customers to $100 off their first order of 12 bottles. All codes are a minimum of 12 bottles, and a minimum spend of $155.58. not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. Next day delivery is available to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth Metro areas for orders placed before 3pm. We don't ship to the northern territory. Delivery not included. Offer is subject to change. See website for full terms and conditions"

Free to a good mouth, if anybody wants it, just comment and I'll DM you with the code and pin.

Who looks at this and thinks it isn't satire lol? I sometimes struggling with telling satire apart, too, but this is the most obvious piece of satire I've seen in a long time.

In Melbourne we do this thing where we let developers build suburbs with zero infrastructure, refuse to put buses or other public transport in when asked because it's "not viable", then a decade later we will put a bus route in, but then bitch and whinge because nobody's catching it. Then maybe 5 or 6 decades after that, we'll order a feasibility study to see if we should build a train station there, then it'll be deemed to expensive and we'll wait another century before deciding to spend insanely high amounts of money on either building an underground station, or acquiring a shit ton of land.

If somebody would use their damn brains and realise it is cheaper and easier to at the very least plan for and reserve land in these new developments for public transport, and these new suburbs would stop being opened without bus stops, supermarkets, and GP clinics, we'd all be better off...

A couple of years ago I found a black and white photo from the late 1800s and wanted to figure out what station it was from. Google was useless and only showed unrelated stations, but surprisingly, Bing found a page with the exact photo on it. It was on one of those shitty scraper pages that just lists thousands and thousands of random photos, but nonetheless I figured out what station it was

It's kinda cool to go to pretty much any post and go "hey! I know almost everyone in the comment section!", but that's a bit of a double edged sword
