Ah yea. It's a hard line to tread. You can be hands off but things get crazy. Or you can be very invovled but then accused of abusing mod power. I totally get it. It's often hard to find a middle ground.

Thank you for the followup and information! Yes I report posts that seem suspicious. Lemmy is pretty bare bones so not surprising that it's hard to catch everything. Appreciate it! Keep up the good work.

Also just realized that people could be downvoting the shit out of my post here rn and I wouldn't know lol.

Gotchya. Thanks for clarifying.

[-] FeelzGoodMan420@eviltoast.org 4 points 3 days ago

Haha fair enough. Fair enough.

I'll read it thanks. One more question if you don't mind. If i make a post on a nsfw community, do I also only see the downvotes from my home instance? You mentioned that the system was working as intended in regards to my OF bait example, however is it though? Because that user will only see downvotes from her home instance right? So that user and everyone else from other instances may not see that other people are downvoting the content for being spam. Does that make sense?

You just keep applying. I got my current job by applying on the website.

Also yea, check your fucking spam folder or try to make the filter less aggressive. It's not good if you're missing interviews.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate you engaging with my post and I understand your perspective on the matter. No community will be perfect and everything you're saying makes sense! I was just interested in other people's opinions and wanted to share my view. So thx.

You couldn't pay me to buy a HP device.

Just to add a follow-up, I feel like there should be a separate community for OnlyFans advertising, and that it should be kept separate from actual user communities. That's just my opinion. I have no idea if people agree.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

My replies:

Agreed on your reply to my added examples. Sorry, I was still working on the post after I posted the initial 3. Appreciate you replying to those too. Totally agree. Just wanted to point it out.

#2. It seems kinda wack if we're getting flooded with posts that are basically corporate Onlyfans posts in that case? Idk. It doesn't sit well with me. I didn't think that that's what these communities should be about. It makes it seem like yet another corporatized space, which is what I thought Lemmy was trying to avoid. But if others disagree then I'll concede.

#3. Yes definitely agreed, lol. It's just extremely hard to tell if that's the case, or if these are people posting women without consent, then deleting the posts when being called out. It's just very suspicious to me.

Replying to your replies. I also upvoted your reply since I appreciate the candid conversation.

#1. Totally fair.

#2. I would agree but the fact that the post was deleted directly after I asked about it is extremely suspicious. I absolutely had no intent to shame someone for using a specific image editor. However the deletion of the post was weird. And my comment on her deleted post was not combative. I merely said i was curious why she used that image editor over others and that I wasn't a photographer and I was unfamilar with different editors.

#3. I would agree however often times when you go to these users profiles, the post is their ONLY POST across any community, when everyone has clearly seen it posted before. This is suspicious.
