I've found multiple discords grow of people who're looking for connection but for me they grow so fast and so active that I kinda drop out. Used to join guilds in the games I played back in the day but those aren't really a thing like they used to be it seems.

Also having this issue, I have my few friends that I game with multiple times a week but outside of that I just can't find people to vibe with online let alone people who live close.

Just in case I forget to check here later, please reply if you have anything (or there's comments that I could read)

I personally don't really have any issues with that anymore. Used to be like that years ago but has improved massively. Mainly their image search thats a bit meh

Too bad, I'd suggest Ecosia next or if that is not an option something like startpage

Switched to ecosia for private use and qwant for professional use. Much better than google and they're creating their own search index now

Never have I felt so offended with something I absolutely agree with

Take a look at Capgemini, idk how active they are in the UK but in Belgium/Netherlands they're usually always hiring

I was looking into those but settled for Xreal AR glasses to use as a monitor, they aren't amazing but good enough for the price + make it very portable and private

They'll keep trying, better to move to something like Le Chat to at least support a fairer company.

Lets contribute to OpenStreetMaps! (www.openstreetmap.org)

We've all already talked about switching away from google/apple maps to something like openstreetmaps, mapy, tomtom amigo, etc. But all of these services use openstreetmaps (UK non-profit) as a source and they still miss a lot of local data even for bigger cities!

If you have some spare time, think about adding a bit of data to the map with your local knowledge. There's a lot of business data missing that is on google maps like websites, phone numbers and opening hours but also stuff like parking lots and whether they're publicly accessible and free or not. Adding these makes the competition of ALL services using OSM as a source better.

I also use the mobile app https://streetcomplete.app/ and https://every-door.app/ to add data while on my walks, these make my walks more engaging and I actually take longer ones + see new places because of it. Streetcomplete also has a focus on important and easy to collect data with their default filters, and you can choose what you want to contribute.

If you really want to get into the thick of it and contribute more than just simple data you can always check out https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/How_to_contribute and see in which of the many ways you can contribute!
