Copenhagen has decent public transport, as long as you don't mind the trains being old and half the signaling systems not working. The modal share is quite low for cars because Copenhagen is flat (and compact enough) that you can basically bike anywhere within 30 minutes (as long as you live in Copenhagen). This is also changing however, as property prices have been skyrocketing since 2008 (but really kicked into overdrive in 2020) and people are slowly being priced out of living within reasonable biking distance. Thus, biking to work has now taken on a class characteristic, which nobody in this place is talking about.

Also, there is supposed to be some new tramlines being openened in early 2025, which I'm looking forward to.

Also supposedly a lot of Republicans just don't like him on a personal level. Probably not enough to go against Trump, but enough that they could actually ask him questions during a confirmation hearing, which I don't think he wants. Also he has so many fucking skeletons in his closet that I think withdrawing is just easier.

Hasn't there been quite an uptick in the number of chuds who give themselves food poisoning by eating raw ground beef? Something about it boosting your masculinity through magic or w/e.

True to my word, I have refrained from posting on this site for the duration of my paternity leave, as I refuse to post here unless I can count it as work. Anyway, kid is doing great, but it does take a toll to be alone with him for n entire day while he is learning to walk. The amount of times I have had to catch something falling on his head is incredible, especially considering that I child-proofed our place when our daughter was born.

In typical boomer fashion, the people in charge absolutely categorically refuse to think long term, particularly if the long term is more than 5 years.

Danish state media is currently running a great headline about how Danish shipping parasite Maersk claims to have been attacked by Ansarallah in the Red Sea, while also further down the main page running a story about how Maersk either rented or loaned the ship that did bridge-9/11 in Baltimore. Just all around a great day to be Maersk kel-bliss

After reading through the list of liberal complaints about what a unique and scary thing a 2nd Trump term would be, in particular with regards to the Project 2025, I'm beginning to wonder why Libs don't ever make demands of their party. Like, if Trump plans on sacking a whole bunch of civil-servants because they are perceived as disloyal to him/the GOP, then you already know what the gameplan for the Right is going to be, so just begin making your own preparations. Begin making your own database of freaks whom the GOP has put into power for being loyal foot-soldiers to the party and the second you get back into any sort of room that with decisionmaking power, begin ruthlessly purging them. Not like Biden is even against the concept of a purge, judging by how his team of bat-shit Neocons are currently running Ukraine.

Anything that isn't SLAVA UKRAINA - VIVA BANDERA is considered to be Putin-bootlicking. Trying to explain context for why we think the way we do means that we are bots or paid operatives by a foreign agency, since obviously anyone disagreeing with the current line of the State Department is an enemy and therefore must be defeated,

Denmark recently passed a law banning the burnings / desecrations of the Quran, in response to noted Danish lunatic and far right activist Rasmus Paludan, who somehow managed to fuck up the swedish NATO ascension by burning a Quran in front of the Turkish embassy. Pretty much anything Paludan does in Sweden is considered an international embarassment, and he has now declared that he intends on forming a street theater group in order to get around the ban on burning Qurans. See, the law includes a 2nd section, which allows you to burn/desecrate a Quran if it is as part of a "broader artistic work". Of course the law does not define what those words actually mean, meaning that Erdogan might get another chance to do a pro-gamer move to the Swedes in about 3 months. Something that Paludan did that massively complicated matters is that he somehow managed to obtain citizenship in Sweden about 10 years ago, and has been a dual citizen of Denmark and Sweden ever since, which means that Sweden is prohibited from banning him from the country, which he has taken advantage of, by going to either Stockholm or Malmö and burning Qurans to his heart's content.

Also his supposed street theater group plans on having their performance solely in front of the Turkish embassy, which I hope Turkey will take as an opportunity for a little extra-judicial assasination, since very few people in Denmark will miss him.

Has anyone else noticed an uptick in federated lemmy-users coming in to Hexbear threads and posting what I can only describe as a sequel to Mein Kampf when it comes to any news about the war? Like I figured most of the lemmy nerds had left, since they're redditors at heart and redditors can't keep themselves focused for more than a few minutes at a time.

Buddy, if you wanna use Mao as a big scary incarnation of Evil, you're somehow even wronger (more wrong?) than your ukraine takes, which I almost want to admire.
