Of course they were lying and complaining about not being able to breathe in bad faith. Of course it was always an excuse to rebel against the idea of doing anything that mildly inconvenienced them for the greater good, ever, and all they wanted was to take their horse dewormer and verbally abuse service industry employees. But goddamn. There is a ridiculous absurdity to the hypocrisy of all these fucks probably being the most ardent anti-maskers and now tripping over themselves to mask up and go harass brown people. This is such a privileged point to make, and calling them out on their hypocrisy doesn't matter--they don't care that they're hypocrites. But you gotta appreciate the naked commitment to just saying whatever the fuck they need to to justify whatever they want to do in the moment.
