Jirard never seemed like the type of guy to pull something like this and I really want to see his response but having the money just sit there (and hopefully still there) for years is a really bad look for him. At the very least he was just clueless but that's still damaging taking into account all the lies on the charity streams

Reddit is only good for solutions though search results but do it anyway. Make it worse and worse until people start looking for alternatives.

I have seen this same image circulated for years. We need a new one because transmission in D tier is unacceptable.

I have been pretty comfortable here because I'm into nerdy things and most of us here are nerds. In fact, the only people that cared about reddit locking down the API were nerds or people jumping on the bandwagon because it was the next big thing. Others didn't care and just wanted reddit back and a lot of people that were here in the beginning went back to reddit. We will probably grow overtime but there's no point in wondering why lemmy isn't more popular, just participate in the communities you like.

I'm tired of GNOME messing with it's API but hopefully this is the last time since they're switching to a standard system. Besides that, it's my favorite DE on Linux. I have to give plasma 6 a shot when it comes out but right now GNOME feels just right compared to other desktops.

If there's a game that can't run on Linux in the current year then that's intentional and it's not worth anyone's money.

And they always respond with something like “I only bought it because I had money to waste”. Bullshit, you wanted the attention.

Back when systemd was a hot topic I jumped on the bandwagon of using systemd-less distros just because people were telling me how bad it was. To this day I still use openrc but the reality is that systemd works very well and is easy to understand and use. The average user gains no benefit to using another init besides having a better understanding of how the system works.

How is this Web3 scam still a thing? I thought I would finally stop hearing it after the crash but it just keeps coming back. The only people who will get rich from this are the scammers themselves.

I have no stance on them but I do find the people that post from hexbear to be a little irritating. A lot of them leave low quality shitpost with massive images and I know that's a bug but it still ruins it for everyone else.

All the previous proof put a dent in their brand but these allegations are actually brand destroying. Linus is evidently an asshole to his workers in his videos so I don't have a hard time believing her allegations. What a fucking dumpster fire.

Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed are the only channels I would watch for new PC part reviews. They don't hide or glance over any details for the sake of entertainment and your attention. If I'm spending $700+ on a product I want to know exactly what I'm getting, Not a quick rundown that skips over details that could be potential deal breakers. Glad to see them get the attention they deserve after all this controversy.
