That's fair, but I never thought I'd be in 2015-16.

Raised Christian. Christian is supposed to be about love and acceptance, but after all the transphobia and homophobia I saw, it was kind of over for me (sapphic)

A lot of Christians claim that there is only one God and that you will burn in Hell for not believing in their religion, which just sounds discriminatory regardless of “I’m just trying to lead sinners on the right path”. It isn’t the right path if you have to fearmonger to lead people on it.

They also claim they’re trying to gently let people into God’s way or something but don’t seem so gentle when they spam “YOUR DELUSIONAL WOMEN (sic)” on trans men’s social media, or ”DELUSIONAL MEN (sic)” on trans women’s.

I believe all religions are the “true religion” and I’m polytheist.

Is that just bicurious? (I’m asking in general, not as myself because I’m bi for sure.)

I know people probably ask this a lot but I genuinely want to know now.

I speak Spanish but primarily speak in English for the main reason that I haven’t seen an active LGBT group in anything but English. If not, I’ll make one!

(There appears to be 2 recent ones in Galician and Norwegian 🇳🇴, too, if you’re interested 😮)

As a biromantic asexual woman, I refer to myself as bi or pan interchangeably.

When I looked at the definitions and using my background knowledge, it appears that both sexualities love regardless of gender.

While bisexual people like men and women, I also heard that very few of them won’t date other genders. Some bi people will only date cis men and women, others only men and women in general, and some will date nonbinary people and not care.

So anyway, don’t both sexualities love regardless of gender and find everyone attractive?

I packed my bags to spend time at my girlfriend’s house to see what it’s like before I move in, so right now, that’s where I am (although she lives next door to my house) and my sister got invited to a sleepover with several eighth grade girls. Apparently they’ll be staying for a few nights but probably just one night.

I’m 23, graduated my senior year of college in 2024. My sister is 14 and will be in high school this autumn.

I’ve been considering it for a while. She was my neighbor, long-time good friend, and I’ve been into her for a while. We started going on dates and becoming official not too long ago, and I was thinking of moving in with her.

All our families completely support the idea and so does my GF.

You can talk about almost anything in any language, primarily those that aren’t English. :)

You may use this as an alternative instance, although the owner of the one on lemmy.ca appointed me as a mod.

All the time in middle school and high school, I’ve heard, for example, “My girlfriend doesn’t like that I do X” or “My wife and I did X this weekend”, and since the teacher is a man, it’s seen as acceptable.

Would casually mentioning having a girlfriend cause angry emails from parents, even if I’m not discussing forms of romantic attraction in schools? These kids are like 11-14 anyway, parents’ job to teach orientation (which I’ve heard argued) or not.

Also, we learn relationship descriptions in middle school Spanish if you choose to take it, which includes words like novio, novia, esposo, and esposa. (Shouldn’t matter, especially if the school I teach in is at a non-Conservative community)

My sister was born in September 2010. She’s going to be in high school this autumn and one of the first freshmen to turn 15 during the school year.

I was 15 years old when I started freshman year and 16 by the end of the year, so I graduated high school at nineteen. (College grad since age 23 last year).

Born in 01. I’m excited to be 24 and have a celebration with my girlfriend and family, but I feel OLD.

What is the cutoff? When do you stop being a young woman?

(I was going to say I wish I was still around 10 years younger when I realized that people born in 2011 are going to be/are 14 and not 5.)

Other edit: It’s been almost 8 years since my Sweet 16. Holy crap. My sister was 6.
