I'm using actively Pixelfed, and having loops just for following the development of the app. Don't see a purpose for loops for me, (never been on tiktok and I'm too old for fast pace vids).

I still don't get why he is getting so much hate. And I'm not one of the fanbase. I just like pixelfed, for the old Insta wipes..

I know im not the only one, trying to get gaming on linux, but im different 😀 I am hooked on Flightgear, (the flight gear group on lemmy seems dead) but im right now playing it (still as a novice) on my Lenovo T470 with Fedora. So well its running okay, but the graphics, especially the suroundings just dosnt look like wheni see thoese vids online about flightgear. So i was wondering, and dreaming about a desktop PC, running linux, that is capable of delevering better graphics in Flightgear.i dont know anything about building a pc, but do you have a recommended setup of all hardware i schould get, and software, to get Flightgear up and running more beautyfull? Im also considdering of using steam as a gameshop. Im such a noob, that i would prefer exsact list of what hardware i schould use. Btw i would like to build my own pc, because im not a fan of thoese gamercomputers with all the colourrd light insight.

Well i just saw the remarkable 2. I liked how it workes at feels. But im concerned for the update abillity, like the software support, and the abillity to decide what data is send and so on. Im a noob for Linux, i use fedora on my laptop, and thats it. So yir Pinenote isnt for me,because im not that good in linux development. What is the linux community thoughts on the remarkable 2 (as far as i know, its based on Linux) or are there good alternatives out there? I want to use it for note taking and reading pdf..

My garden has 3 core functions. Recreation and play, Growing vegetables and fruits, and givin nature more room. The so called Controlled Wildernes. I Love to see all the different species the are coming by. But i always want to make it better, especially the combination of space for family and nature. Ive got inspired by the book The Garden Jungle from Dave Goulson. It just gave me more ideas and motivation to protect the smal animals, and make the garden usefull for more. But what about you? What books, articles, documentary etc, did inspire or would give me some ideas to let nature have more space in af garden?

I just love this. Right now I'm hooked in electro from Düsseldorf. You have any suggestions to make my music horizon bigger? I know of Rheingold, Fehlfarben. But love to hear some DDR bands in the same style of the mentioned.

Hi! Im interested in, getting my records, or some of them, mounted on the wall, for display the nice covers Records have, but the same time have easy acces for playing my fav. Im thinking of a shelf, in one piece, for 5 records, and 2-3 of them above each other. But i cant find some online, so maybe you could show how you have mounted yours on the wall. DIY projects with descriptions are appreciated.

Hey Folks! Someone in my family (Person A), has talked to a guy, who is working in the tech world, about if it make sense to use Signal, over Messenger, Snap, WhatsApp, with privacy in mind. The tech guy said, there is no difference, and that its not making sense to use it and that its almost the same. I know Signal is discussed alot here, but im now looking for some arguments, and facts to tell the one from my family, that the tech guy is wrong. What arguments can i use, why is Signal better in privacy, then the other alternatives? Person A, has always been sceptical about me beeing so privacy minded, and A thinks that there is nothing to do to protect, and is one of thoese saying : I have nothing to hide.

Edit: thank you for the help

Im usong Racoon on my android phone. Its looking great and so, but i would like to read lemmy on my desktop, but the web version, ive used, looks wierd, and cant go in darkmode. Any, still maintained clients or apps out there? I like darkmode, and a sharp look, and some personalisation features.

EDIT: thank you for the help, hope other new members of Lemmy laso could use my question. I Have now found what i was looking for :)

Ive tried to find some other post about it, here on Lemmy, but haven't found it, and the funkwhale Lemmy forum is actually dead. So I have signed up for a pod, could log in, on the web, but not the original funkwhale app. So is funkwhale dead? Are there any alternatives? Or have I misunderstood how to get started with it? (I'm a newbie)

Well i just got hooked on my CD collection, and want to register the CDs I have, to have a ordered view of my collection, and to search after titles. I like how discogs looks, and works with scanning the barcode. But is there for android or Linux an app or web place that's an alternative to discogs?

Well I have signed up for Loops, the federated tiktok alternative. I signed up on Monday and haven't still a mail about how to start, after the signup. So I'm writing this to hear from others, who have signed up for loops, whathavet you experience with the signup, have you got both mails, or are you just like me still waiting and looking for news all the time on Mastodon? Maybe we could help each other, be patience together and yir discuss loops and talk about the hopes we have for the tiktok alternative.

I wanna make more of myaccounts in the internet secure with two factor. I don't know much about it, but found out about Fido 2 and so. The security key my webbrowser shows often is the one from Yubico (BTW, I would like to get one that works with Linux, with USB and for phone with NFC) I got concerned when I noticed that Yubico is from USA, (??) Because I think NSA and thibgs like five eyes and so. Is there actually a risk that the for example is made an backdoor in the key?

But what about just poop on some toilet paper, make no splash, and the smell is still not so hard, as with the dutch/German toilet
