Oh please, it can do so much more: save the economy, fix healthcare, combat global warming, reduce racism,...

Quite easily explained: older generations accumulated wealth as they got older, so the central message of the right "I got mine, fuck you" (paraphrased) resonated more with them.

Newer generations only accumulate debt.

"It would get old fast"? Op, I'm afraid you don't have good friends. When I was a university student, I was in a shared apartment with two friends. It was great: you always had someone to do stuff with and group activities were much easier to schedule.

Now that I'm older it would be nice to easily check who's up for something, spontaneously grill with everyone or simply sit together in the evening and talk.

My friends group still goes on vacation together from time to time and I love it. If your friends are only enjoyable in small doses... I don't know... that sounds sad.

Also with a house of your own, everyone would have enough space to retreat if necessary.

Besides from the bad gardening that was mentioned by the other posts, I would love to live like this.

What the hell? If they just asked ChatGPT it would have been much better:

  • Repository: A folder of project files on the internet.

  • Fork: Your own copy of that folder to make changes.

  • Pull Request: A way to ask, “Can my changes go back into the original folder?”

All programs can be written with on less line of code. All programs have at least one bug.

By the logical consequences of these axioms every program can be reduced to one line of code - that doesn't work.

One day AI will get there.

Russia feels "threatened" by NATO.

It's a defense pact. As long as you don't attack nothing happens - so why would you feel threatened by that if you don't plan on attacking those countries?

It's an elder scrolls game... It's going to be modded into ... Oblivion

Well, the female friend basically said 'I am so hot anyone I want (for example you) would love to have me as a girlfriend'.

By denying that, he denied her self worth.

Of course, her stance doesn't take into account things like personal preference or matching personalities.

You want to follow your not-money-generating dreams? Become a philosopher? Travel the world? Just enjoying your life? Well, you better be rich or you can forget about it.

The rich didn't just steal everything they can from us, they made sure that we suffer if we don't work for them.

I miss LAN parties... Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, CS, Diablo, Alien vs Predator 2, Quake and the successors of those games. Good times. Online is nice and all, but nothing compares to playing the night away with friends in one room

Oh yes. The company where I work at does these performance reviews: doing 100% gives you a 'C' (as a grade). I do everything that is expected from me without anything to complain about? Yeah, that's not good enough.

Fuck that.

There is the silent complaint that you could do more... Give up your spare time for your work. Work yourself tired and burn out for your company! That's what they want to see.

I'm looking for a new job while I still work there.

It's simple: Germany always does what Israel wants.

You know, because of our history.

There are many people (especially the older generation) who think we as Germans can't say anything bad about Israel no matter what they do.
