I would be much less against pro-life if the movement would focus on better care for would-be-mothers, easier adoption and better oversight, financial support for girls who give up their children, increasing adoption numbers, better sex ed, etc. instead of banning abortions.

They are exclusively focusing on the worst way to reduce abortions.

It's the poster child of vapid consumerism. Pseudo-deep "words of wisdom" often bought by the most shallow people you can think of.

It's the battle cry of the suburban Karen, the mantra of the soccer mom.

Often combined with the consumption of rigorous amounts of wine and sings declaring how hilarious this socially accepted alcoholism is.

I miss LAN parties... Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, CS, Diablo, Alien vs Predator 2, Quake and the successors of those games. Good times. Online is nice and all, but nothing compares to playing the night away with friends in one room

This opening move is called "The Russian Statesman". Very traditional.

Never experienced something like that, especially with metal fans who - in my opinion - are some of the most welcoming bunch.

Perhaps it's different in the US, but here in Germany that scenario seems unlikely.

Oh yes. The company where I work at does these performance reviews: doing 100% gives you a 'C' (as a grade). I do everything that is expected from me without anything to complain about? Yeah, that's not good enough.

Fuck that.

There is the silent complaint that you could do more... Give up your spare time for your work. Work yourself tired and burn out for your company! That's what they want to see.

I'm looking for a new job while I still work there.

I don't see how that paper has anything to do with OPs theory.

AI is a tool that makes us X% more productive (X is still debatable and bound to change)

But instead of making our job X% easier or let us earn X% more, work X% less, corporations are hellbent to fire X% of the workforce because that makes the most money.

It's simple: Germany always does what Israel wants.

You know, because of our history.

There are many people (especially the older generation) who think we as Germans can't say anything bad about Israel no matter what they do.
