I could only think of Happy Wheels lol. Quick searching led me to Cyclomaniacs and Adrenaline Challenge, not sure if these are even close

There's this one Flash game that was basically only ever featured in one Flash game website (AFAIK), it played almost exactly like Swords and Sandals (it's a clone that's got nothing to do with the original series), but with this one, you could also choose to be an anthropomorphic animal and you start off with a fish for a weapon. It seemingly vanished from the face of earth, it's probably not even in the Flashpoint Archive..

That said, I've found most Flash games I played back in the Flash heydey by complete accident (e.g. via YouTube recommendations), games like Chasm, Haunted House, The Farmer, Nightmares, The Adventures Series, except for this one for whatever reason.

I never really began a wild goose chase over this one, but it still lives in the back of my mind sometimes.. But I did make it my mission to document flash games I used to play in case I want to ever revisit them lol.

I'm half-way through buying all of my parts.

Pretend that my selected graphics card is the Lisuan G100. Because fuck AMD and NVIDIA.

My usecases are playing around with DaVinci Resolve and GIMP, small-time Godot game dev'ing, playing indie games, self-hosting (e.g. a Jellyfin instance for my movie/tv show for my LAN streaming needs) and just general browsing lol. I don't intend to overclock, so 600-650W seems fairly plenty.

I had previously struggled with H.265 video formats, my previous setup with the i5 4670k and NVIDIA 750ti were barely keeping up with anything new, never mind newer standards (somehow runs Ghostrunner 2 @ 1080p 40fps in most terrains!). They held their weight pretty nicely over the years though.

Original source, including in-depth tests and other fancy details of the CPU used in the MAXHUB PC itself (written in Mandarin): https://news.mydrivers.com/1/1070/1070803_all.htm

CPU-Z Single-Core Benchmark and specs from the original source:

That's an 8-core, ~3GHz Base Speed, 32MB L3 cache CPU for the number-crunchers around here.

On the surface, this CPU seems like it's best suited for general desktop and office use, to see it adopted to a PC build product geared for "AI workloads" is interesting. If I'm not mistaken, AI performance is heavily dependent on the GPU rather than on the CPU, so I think that's fine:

In terms of performance, the MAXHUB's AI+ desktop computer is claimed to play 1080P 30fps and 4K 30fps high-bitrate online videos with decent CPU utilization numbers, showing that the KX-7000 CPU acts decently with media workload. Of course, when compared against competitors like Intel or AMD, Zhaoxin is behind, but the key motive here to create an ecosystem that relies entirely on in-house products, and this has apparently happened here.

And that's a good thing, lol.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a shocking and brutal incident unfolded at the University of Warsaw, leaving the academic community in disbelief. Around 6:40 PM, 22-year-old Mieszko R., a law student at the university, attacked two individuals with an axe in the Auditorium Maximum building. The attack resulted in the tragic death of a 53-year-old female porter, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while a 39-year-old university security guard sustained serious injuries while attempting to intervene.

In the aftermath of this horrific event, Mieszko R. was charged with murder with particular cruelty, attempted murder of the security guard, and desecration of the victim's body.

Mieszko R. hails from Gdynia and had been studying law at the University of Warsaw. His acquaintances described him as a quiet and reserved individual with interests in military items and the Soviet Union. However, social media activity revealed a darker side; his Instagram account followed profiles associated with far-right groups, including Konfederacja and Młodzież Wszechpolska. Reports indicated that he had a fascination with violence, often watching recordings of gang activities from regions like South America and the Middle East.

Love how news outlets always find a way to blame it on them Lay-Tams, Ay-Rabs, etc.. even if it has nothing to do with them. It's no surprise since it's an Europa specialty. WP Polska and their contemporaries worded that last part slightly differently:

He showed and sometimes watched himself, commenting with a smile on his face, recordings from places like South America or the Middle East, where real gangs kill real people - adds our interlocutor.

as an alternative, I recommend Yewtube (not to be confused with the Invidious instance with the same name):

https://github.com/mps-youtube/yewtube

It's a TUI application that streams the music to mplayer, VLC or MPV depending on your preference. It can also handle playlists/albums.

I've been working on a small platformer game that squarely revolves around Demoman's mobility mechanics from TF2 (think Sticky Jumper, stickyjumping, trimping, etc..) but in 2D. I'm thinking that there could be potential for something funny and wacky from coalescing some ideas from an FPS game and 2D platformers like VVVVVV, Rayman Origins/Legends and some Flash games from way back then..

So far I only have the movement and projectile physics down.. my artistic abilities leave... a lot to be desired. I haven't decided on the game's core mechanics just yet either, but now I turn to you to gather some inspiration :).

EDIT: attached some gameplay footage

detective conan sure had a hard time cracking the case!

"The personal information we collect from you may be stored on a server located outside of the country where you live. We store the information we collect in secure servers located in the People's Republic of China," the privacy policy reads.

Oh the horror! Let's look at what our glorious spawns-of-techbro heroism has for us in store:

ChatGPT:

spoiler

OpenAI processes your Personal Data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy on servers located in various jurisdictions, including processing and storing your Personal Data in our facilities and servers in the United States. While data protection law varies by country, we apply the protections described in this policy to your Personal Data regardless of where it is processed, and only transfer that data pursuant to legally valid transfer mechanisms.

Claude:

spoiler

When you access our website or Services, your personal data may be transferred to our servers in the US, or to other countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and the UK. This may be a direct provision of your personal data to us, or a transfer that we or a third party make.

So not only is your data "possibly" stored in one country, now there's a possibility of it being stored in many different countries. Where's the outcry for that?

Ok, so maybe your data being under the jurisdiction of another country is sus, right?

In another section about how DeepSeek shares user data, the company states that it may share user information to "comply with applicable law, legal process, or government requests."

OH MY GOD SOUND THE ALARM!

ChatGPT:

spoiler

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes: [...] To comply with legal obligations and to protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of our users, OpenAI, or third parties.

Claude:

spoiler

Pursuant to regulatory or legal requirements, safety, rights of others, and to enforce our rights or our terms. We may disclose personal data to governmental regulatory authorities as required by law, including for legal, tax or accounting purposes, in response to their requests for such information or to assist in investigations. We may also disclose personal data to third parties in connection with claims, disputes or litigation, when otherwise permitted or required by law, or if we determine its disclosure is necessary to protect the health and safety of you or any other person, to protect against fraud or credit risk, to enforce our legal rights or the legal rights of others, to enforce contractual commitments that you have made, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

So not only can your data be subject to the authorities, but it's also handed out to 3rd parties (mind you, DeepSeek does the exact same, so why is it any surprise?).

Not only does DeepSeek collect "text or audio input, prompt, uploaded files, feedback, chat history, or other content that [the user] provide[s] to our model and Services," ...

🤦... You get the idea now, bother yourself with the privacy policies of the respective contemporaries and CTRL + F to "User Content" or "User Input".. Same fucking shit.

Companies with AI models like Google, Meta, and OpenAI collect similar troves of information, but their privacy policies do not mention collecting keystrokes.

Yes, collecting keystrokes is probably the oddest thing here. To compare data farming giants with a decade and a half's worth of data collection to a startup in terms of data collection is so astronomically dumb.

I could go on but I'm bored now. Do your own research.

A new English-language Polish film about Vladimir Putin, in which the Russian president is portrayed using AI-powered special effects to superimpose his real face on an actor, will premiere on 10 January.

The biopic, titled Putin, is the work of Polish filmmaker Patryk Vega, who is best known for movies about the criminal underworld.

The director had initially planned to make a film about Russian gangsters but, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he decided to focus on “Russia’s biggest gangster”, Putin, he told newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.

...

“The audience needed to see the real Putin,” Vega told British newspaper The Telegraph. “They see him every day in the media. Even the best actor with great make-up wouldn’t convincingly portray a figure everyone in the world knows so well.”

I'm looking for something that takes a CV (e.g. md, pdf, odt, whatever) and a site to the job post as inputs and outputs a CV that is tailored to the requirements listed in that job post, without significantly changing the CV in some way..

I know that LLMs would be best used for such a problem, but the issue is that I don't have such a beefy computer to run an LLM locally.. Maybe there's something out there that doesn't use an LLM? Anything that helps with applying and making sure that the CV is attractive enough to your average ATS, honestly.
