After a decade of using the bare minimum vi modes I just yesterday discovered I could use visual mode to jointly indent multiple lines.

I will still prefer pycharm every day of the week over vim, but yesterday I needed to modify code on a server and rebuild some docker containers. I couldn't be arsed setting up my local env, making a merge request etc and was pretty impressed that a combination of screen, vim, docker compose and git - all available via SSH, was a complete toolset for getting an emergency change deployed and an app running again.

SSH managers on Linux? (lemmy.sdf.org)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by plumbercraic@lemmy.sdf.org to c/linux@lemmy.ml

Curious what folks are using to organise their remote connections? I liked WinSSHTerm and have tried replacing it with Remote Desktop Manager, but it seems a bit broken (fonts look terrible in a terminal, sftp doesn't work, RDP sort of works, but it's not great).

RDP is not a must. Folders, ssh, key auth, sftp and scp are the main things I'm looking for. Currently considering Remmina but though I would check if ppl have strong views on this topic before trying the next app.

I'm using cinnamon with mint 22.

Thanks Mr Trump - this really helps us sell our non-US technology to the Europeans. Keep on making stuff great again 🤘

You also don’t get to enjoy many of the PSVR 2’s vaunted box features — HDR, headset feedback, and eye tracking are all disabled. So are the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback (not including rumble) on the controllers.

In Norway you don't break stride as a pedestrian, so any number above 0 seconds is unusual at a zebra crossing. There's always this "oops I'm not in Norway anymore" moment i have as i consider trying the same shit in other countries.

I dunno about winning. Lemmy user count is through the roof. And Im one of the people who left when they pulled the API nonsense. The way they gaslit and lied to the Apollo dev was just unacceptable. Couldn't participate there after that.

I had this argument with a boomer HR consultant and she just doubled down, even though I explained that neither I nor my colleagues, give two hoots about fussball or team building. Our position is a resounding "fuck you pay me" but oh no - boomer knows best.

Lol. I uh. Guess I didn't want a one time payment option after all.

Me neither but I'll do an ignorant take and invite someone more knowledgeable to correct me: The tech to make films without human actors is available, and Hollywood studios think that they have unlimited rights forever to the digital likenesses of the actors they have contracts with. Which is pretty fucking rich from the same corporations that think we should pay for the same film on dvd, on blu ray, on blu ray in a different region, on the apple store, on the play store, and reserve the right to revoke our access to any of these where possible.

And the ad was one of their anti piracy ads ("you wouldn't download a car"), from the time where they made the nonsense claim that every pirate download was equal to lost revenue, as they tried to erode Internet privacy and bankrupt people who didn't have enough money to defend themselves in court.
