Bill Gates and Linus Torvalds have apparently never met in person before, despite their pseudo-rivalry.

I am being forced into installing Life360 on my phone, which as you all probably know, is a massive privacy violation. Just by looking through the AppStore data page, lots of sensitive information gets shared with third parties. There’s got to be a way to disable it, and only enable it when necessary right? Or am I out of options here? Even though it’s only slightly less of a privacy risk, I’d prefer using Apple’s find my service, which has most of the features that Life360 has, while also being built in to every iOS device. How do I reason with this person?

This has happened 3 times in the past 2 days, any advice? It goes away after reboots but always comes back.

Update: So it could be GPU death, how exciting, especially for a 1.5 year old laptop. As of now it hasn’t terribly affected my workflow, but if this persists even after future kernel/driver updates, it may be rip. I am still hopeful that it could be software related, but time will tell!

This one is a little more interesting

Update 2: I was using Windows for testing purposes, and it happened again! This was immediately after picking the laptop up, so it is definitely hardware related. This time it made a horrible noise as well, answering some of the questions. So somehow by picking the device up, maybe the internals are slightly bent, causing the issues?

Louisiana, my home state, is banning the promotion of certain vaccines by public health workers. This seems to be in preparation for the upcoming Trump administration.

While this is true, Discord has a massive user base, so it’s somewhat a privacy win for the common person

Open source will always be the best option, especially with a government supporting it! Imagine what government funding could do to accelerate improvements to Linux

Doesn’t x also equal -3?

Interesting for sure, but it looks like an ad-ridden clone of GBA4iOS, so I may just stick with sideloaded Ignited for now. In my opinion though, this is a big step, as others are probably soon to follow with possibly better ones.

As another once said, “Elon Musk is a stupid man’s genius,” and after all of his tantrums, I see it as true.

The BIOS is an operating system, albeit a super low level one. What is wrong here? It would only be software gore if it said that it was part of the windows operating system, since the BIOS is a system operating system.

Imagine a completely different OS running software made for your OS better than your actual OS could. This is Microsoft Windows

I feel right at home in the fediverse, it gives me a much more secure feeling than Reddit. Thank you devs for your hard work at creating a suitable alternative.
