Was always a fan of this and opus III - its a fine day , which was later remixed by orbital for their halcyon track. All great tracks

That'll do for breakfast on some toast 😋

This is why above all I prefer roms and emulators. I have already paid my dues years ago on the consoles. I have steam and the deck to support Linux as the rest are anti consumer and dont give a shit about linux.

The problem is worse with consoles as they can have short life-cycles and the discs are tied to the hardware or console specific online service eg eshop.

If the news is that important you'll find it elsewhere without this bs

I would rather a long life cycle. Devs shouldn't be releasing unoptimized games in the first place. The current deck is powerful enough to run most things and a release every year means worse support and more e-waste in addition to minimal advances in tech to justify the cost. It also fragments the market for supported on deck status.

Its not supposed to replace a top of the line gaming rig.

Well it will probably keep working unless you update to a newer android version that could break the app. In the long term we have to hope someone picks up the torch.

I have a 2011 kindle, the silver one with no backlight . I got second hand from a friend and I use calibre on linux to convert books to the amazon format and copy them over via USB. It does the job but I have seen that these are like 20 ducats on eBay and other places if anyone wants a cheap option.

Anna's archive with virus total for books

I was only able to play skate 3 so far with better performance than rpcs3. I didn't change any settings in the conf file. It is using the vulkan renderer.

I limit the fps to 30, TPD to 8 and GPU to 1200.

I'm trying a few games here and there to see but It can only improve over time.

PassAndroid (f-droid.org)
submitted 8 months ago by JoeKrogan@lemmy.world to c/fdroid@lemmy.ml

I came across this as I needed to install some proprietary app to view a .pkpass file and I discovered this FOSS app instead that does the job and doesnt share the data with any third parties.

Anyway I'm just spreading the word.

The text below is copied from fdroid.

"Displays Passbook (*.pkpass) files & shows the Barcode (QR, PDF417 and AZTEC format). It can be used also when offline.

This app is a viewer for passes - a pass could be a e.g. boarding-pass for your next flight, a coupon for a nice hot beverage on the destination, a movie ticket, a membership card - there are a lot of possibilities. Basically it is a replacement for a piece of paper or plastic you would normally have to carry with you - so lets save some trees and reduce waste!

How does it work?

There are so called espass or pkpass files - you can open them with this app - e.g. when you receive them via email or get an Download-option. The most important content is the BarCode ( QR , AZTEC & PDF417which authorizes you most of the time - but it also has other interesting content like a description - often a time ( that you now can add to your calendar ) - often also locations ( to give you directions ) - just try It out! The app is offline usable once you downloaded the pass!"

You probably know the slum village classic already, this translates to "the look of love" by savage decibel, a rapper from Chile.

With a comparison between apartheid South Africa and the Israel/Palestine conflict, this doc traces the future of one conflict from the past of another. Weaving the history of apartheid into the complex issues facing Israelis and Palestinians, it highlights the frighteningly similar laws and tools used by Israel and apartheid-era South Africa. It's a dark picture of the present but offers hope based on the peace that South Africa eventually found.
