Make that argument to the family members of people experiencing the genocide, I would imagine they will laugh in your face. These people are enduring unimaginable horrors, their children are being brutally murdered and libs keep telling them to suck it up because actually this is the lesser of evils.

It's a pathetic fucking argument.

ok tough guy. Let me know when you've told a Palestinian that they are stupid for not voting democrat because Trump is going to murder their family even harder than Biden.

[-] Moneo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

What are you even saying?

Your argument is essentially, "Hey I know democrats are committing a genocide against your people, but if you don't vote for them republicans are going to genocide your people even harder"

Why should they believe democrats? The arguments you're all making lack any sort of attempts to understand the people you're talking about or the situation they are facing. Their families are being murdered every fucking day and Kamala couldn't fucking stop herself from saying shit like "we're going to have the most lethal army" and "israel has a right to defend itself". I cannot imagine the emotions these people are dealing with and the fact that you are belittling them for not voting democrat is honestly disgusting.

Imagine thinking "stop committing a genocide" is perfection.

Liberals are amazing creatures.

[-] Moneo@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

The response by so many people has been pathetic. Liberals are learning nothing.

Very well said, thanks for chiming it.

I've lived am extremely privileged life and have only just started engaging with this stuff but I'm feeling pretty hopeless. The Libs are firmly neo-liberal, the NDP don't seem capable of any sort of positive messaging, and the Cons have nosedived into neo-nazism.

Local advocacy and education seems like the only way forward for progressive thinkers.

You're doing the exact same thing. You are refusing to acknowledge any criticism to the Harris campaign and blaming voters for the loss.

Misogyny absolutely played a role in this election and I do not want to downplay the racism and misogyny that Harris had to work against, but she ran a fucking awful campaign. She sucked up to fascists, ignored her base, and belittled the concerns pro-palestine protestors.

I'm speaking now.

Downvotes on this comment are delusional.

The only candidate in this election with a positive approval rating was the progressive guy (Tim Walz). Bernie Sanders and AOC are two of the most popular politicians around right now and both of them are very progressive. Obama won a historic election by running a progressive campaign. Andy Beshear won the gubernatorial election in fucking Kentucky with a pro-trans progressive message and is an extremely popular governor.

Liberals refuse to even pay lip service to the idea that regular people support progressive policy.

[-] Moneo@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

I'm not commenting on the ethics of voting for Harris. I'm commenting on the hordes of people on lemmy and other social networks who were actively insulting anyone who expressed uncertainty in voting for Kamala. Actively insulting people who want to be on your side but are finding it difficult to support someone who is part of an administration that is actively funding a genocide.

Those people, in my opinion, pushed voters away by completely ignoring their concerns and telling them they are fucking stupid if they don't vote democrat. It's a brain dead strategy and mirrors the democrats campaign strategy, which categorically failed.

Been saying this the whole time. Libs were shaming and harassing undecided voters for weeks instead of acknowledging that the dems were running a god awful campaign and pivoting towards nazi policies.

I paid for no-ads Reddit back in the day but when I tried to transfer purchases nothing happened. Is this intentional? $30 seems steep for no ads but I'm a cheap bastard.

Sorry to ask a question that's probably been asked before, couldn't find an answer.
