Ah my bad. I thought the song was written by Brandon Flowers after catching his girlfriend cheating on him in a bar in his hometown of Las Vegas.

During lockdown in April 2020, the frontman looked back at the video and noted: "It's just a song about betrayal. I was betrayed and I was able to turn it into a masterpiece".

Mr Brightside by the Killers. The tune was good and felt energetic when it came about, but it's about a guy being cheated on. Having had someone cheat on me around the time it came out it hit really close to home and I just don't enjoy listening to the song.

The problem with being in the UK is that it's so overplayed and I just have to tune it out.

Just in case anyone wanted an update on the preservation efforts of the giant spiders....

I'm truly impressed by the photographer not being in the photos.

Has anyone found since installing Balatro it is using battery even when you're not running it?

I noticed recently my battery has been running down a bit more than usual. I then noticed since my last charge it says Balatro has been using my battery even though I haven't played and it's not running as an app that I can close in the background.

I'm guessing the top management didn't learn that crunch is perceived negatively and doesn't always yield quality results. I'm so glad I never backed this game all those years ago.

Hey all, I'm still a junior dev with years of experience in IT. One of the things I've noticed since making the switch is that (at least where I work) documentation is inconsistent.

Things I encounter include incomplete documentation, outdated documentation and written process details that have assumed knowledge which makes it difficult for junior Devs to pick up.

I've had a search and a lot of what is out there talks more about product and how to document that SDLC rather than best practice in writing and organising documents against the actual software engineering and its processes.

Does anyone have any good sources or suggestions on how I could look to try and begin to improve documentation within my team?

Read your comment after seeing the image, went back and noticed the fake tan, gave me a good chuckle.

I see new content every day, and that is after blocking a lot of instances that aren't relevant to my taste. I don't think this place is dead, it just needs more of those 48k to contribute.

Surely this is better than the crypto/NFT tech fad. At least there is some output from the generative AI that could be beneficial to the whole of humankind rather than lining a few people's pockets?

She's saying these things to him to reinforce it into his subconscious. One day he may start believing those lies, and one day they may actually come true. Except the tall thing, he's fucked.

I recently kept getting advertised Loudermilk on Netflix. I'd see the initial trailer that they play and wasn't intrigued. I then sat down for lunch and wanted something to watch, I decided to give it a go and after the first couple of episodes I was hooked. I finished season 3 and it was such a fun show to watch. Unfortunately I see the studio that created it has been shuttered. What's the likelihood this show will ever be picked up again?

I know this is probably a long shot but does anyone know of a non-biased source of all party Manifestos?

I remember some time ago there was a site where people could answer questions on subjects that were important to them and based on those which party is recommended.

Most definitely an unpopular opinion. When the Matrix originally released it was a technical marvel, that moment Neo is dodging the bullets in slow motion was incredible. I think as the years have gone on the story has lost some of its charm because the wachowskis have been butchering the franchise to try and protect it in some strange way. As a standalone movie The Matrix story and technical implementation were phenomenal, as soon as they made sequels, and other movies started to copycat, it began to lose that magic

If anyone genuinely feels this way and wants to get started in coding, I highly recommend doing one of the mooc.fi courses. Codecademy is fine as a taster/refresh but don't waste money on the premium when something like mooc is available for free.

I feel for the teacher, Windows is still the predominant OS that is used by businesses worldwide and it's unlikely to change any time soon. Ensuring the kids have some familiarity with it is important as when a lot of them go into the workplace their employer isn't going to give them a choice of OS to use. A number of schools in my country now provide kids with Windows laptops that can be managed through group policies. I can imagine the teacher feeling frustrated at times as their teaching material will be geared to Windows and may face challenges in being able to grade your kid.

It's great you have given your kid experience in using Linux and that should set them up really well to working in a Linux based environment. Hopefully one day other OS will be added to teacher's curriculum so that all kids have the opportunity to get hands on experience.
