Women thinking men are icky when they express emotions is because they're taught from a very young age that expressing emotions is feminine and feminine, especially feminine men, is bad. This wasn't a reach to blame on the patriarchy at all.

The patriarchy isn't "men are harming people all by themselves." It's the gender roles and gender hierarchy that both men and women perpetuate.

Headline writers are the worst. The actual article isn't too bad. It acknowledges pay is important and it needs to be a liveable salary.

These very feelings allow companies to stand out, even if they can’t outpay all of their competitors. Of course, livable wages are critical for all individuals, but once reasonable compensation is established, emotional salary can outweigh base salary when it comes to engaging and retaining top talent. When paired with fair pay, a strong emotional salary can lead to higher job satisfaction, catalyzing a more committed employee base.

Which is kind of like a duh. If you hate your boss, think your company is ruining the world and the hours suck, then they'd have to pay a lot to retain you if you can get a job somewhere else. Whereas if you're besties with your coworkers, your boss regularly shows his appreciation for you, and your company is alright, and you aren't hurting for money then you're less likely to even be looking at what other companies are offering.

I would like some houses without people. Having a little surplus is usually a good thing. So like if some houses become unlivable, we have houses for the suddenly unhoused people.

Does 80 technical papers in 2.5 years seem kind of off to anyone else? That's more than a paper every 2 weeks. Is there really time for meaningful research if you're publishing that often? Is he advising a lot of students? If that's the case, is he providing the attention generally needed for each one? Is his field just super different than mine?

Yes, but then he went on to be an adult bullying children.

That's obviously not what they meant.

They get the desire to make a group of kids chill out and sleep.

The blurb and headline make no insinuation of sexual abuse.

I think the second sentence makes it not. If the guy didn't have a really good reason for doing so, the other people on the plane wouldn't have supported his actions. It's clickbaity. But the title to me makes it sound like the guy might be a hero.

Complement as in "Hey nice guns." Not add to them.

You don't feel so dumb when you can find a bunch of people who agree with you.

According to Mayo Clinic, penicillin and amoxicillin also can make birth control less effective. But most other sources agree with you. I wonder if it's relatively new information that those antibiotics don't affect it or what.

I'd swap the chicken for eggplant personally.

Yeah, the re-do your life idea really gets scary after you have kids. There's pretty much no way you get them back.
