Have you tried using elk.zone? It mimics Twitterโ€™s interface and has some great additional features (like zen mode)

Hello everyone! This is Elena (@_elena@mastodon.social on Mastodon), the blogger behind The Future is Federated.

I'm really grateful to see that my blog posts are often shared on here... even old ones (like my Friendica show & tell from last July is still making the rounds).

I just wanted to give you a heads up that I am now self-hosting my Ghost blog at https://news.elenarossini.com/ - the old URLs (with the subdomain blog) will no longer work... that blog, on a Ghost (Pro) plan will be deleted from the Ghost servers this weekend.

All this to say: please update your RSS feeds: https://news.elenarossini.com/rss and if you're trying to open an old URL, just swap "blog" with "news" in the subdomain.

cheers!

Elena

Oooh interesting! Could you please elaborate / share any resources about this?

Even if your Mastodon instance is federated with Threads, you can still block the whole domain from your account. Explanation / walkthrough here: https://mastodon.social/@_elena/113797840274825233

Thank you for your comment โ€“ OP here (of the blog post).

**Calckey.world **is a Sharkey instance (a fork of MissKey). I LOVE IT SO MUCH, it's my favorite Fediverse software so far... I'm planning to write about it soon for my blog.

Yeah DeepL is NOT part of the Fediverse - I used it to translate a comment from Portuguese to English. Still my favorite online translator but my husband also uses ChatGPT for those purposes and I've been really impressed by its quality, too.

Loops.video just launched - it's the Fediverse's answer to TikTok by the creator of Pixelfed, FediDB, etc. It's not active yet, for now you can register your username, but Dan has yet to onboard users. I believe he said he needs to upgrade to a new server because of all the sign-ups.

Linux phone: yeah, I cannot wait to build one. Definitely my goal for next year - as well as a Linux computer :)

Thank you for the feedback and the testimony โ€“ original blog post author right here ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm glad to hear you were pleasantly surprised and I appreciate the tips about opensource.com and The Cathedral and the Bazaar - made a note to look it up and read it.

Original article author here ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ thank you for posting the link to it @Ludrol@szmer.info - I was afraid what the reactions may be ๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™m writing this from the iOS app Voyager - interestingly, I didnโ€™t get any notifications about the mention (my Lemmy username) but found the post organically because I follow the Fediverse community.

After a day of testimonies (from users on Lemmy, Mbin, Mastodon and Friendica) I am now determined to write a follow-up post with more interoperability tests.

I realize some of the problems I encountered - federation-wise - may be due to the particular instances I was using (on Lemmy and Friendica for example) not the software, so Iโ€™m going to create new accounts on other instances and try out interoperability again.

By the end of this I may find myself with a dozen Fediverse accounts LOL ๐Ÿ˜…

Thank you again for the great feedback and tips, I really appreciate ๐Ÿ™

Thank you for the explanation! May I quote you in my (future) blog post about Lemmy?

[-] elena@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

I'm holding out hope that one single Fediverse identity will be a possibility in the future. Discussion here: https://thenewstack.io/one-login-towards-a-single-fediverse-identity-on-activitypub/

Thank you for the explanation! Follow-up question: if you follow a Lemmy community in Mastodon, do you feel like your feed is filled with messages from that community? Like, does it get noisy fast? (But I'm thinking if they show up as boosts I could simply filter out boosts in my Ivory app)...

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and I wonder if you have any advice/testimonials to share regarding Fediverse interoperability.

I'm working on a post about it for my blog series The Future is Federated. Iโ€™d like to do a show & tell, demonstrating what interoperability looks like between #Lemmy and #Friendica, #Mastodon + a federated blog to start with.

Thereโ€™s a superb post by @informapirata@mastodon.uno about Lemmy and Friendica communities: https://www.informapirata.it/2024/01/02/mastodon-tips-how-to-use-friendica-groups-forums-and-lemmy-communities/ and I wonder if you have ever tried further integrations.

I know this sounds crazy, but does #Phanpy work with Lemmy? Iโ€™m asking because I use it with not only #Mastodon but also #Pixelfed and Friendica.

Anyway, any testimonials and tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
