I know I'm late to the party but I just found out and didn't find a post regarding this

TL;DR: Steam now calculates review scores based on reviews made on your languages only (if enough). This is on by default, but can be reverted to go back to review scores based on all reviews (from people that purchased the game directly on Steam only)

Hi! I'm looking for a privacy respecting Android tablet.

I ruled out the google tablet due to it being too expensive with an LCD screen

I would prefer a nice OLED screen if possible (or similar), and preferably cheap. Must be able to stream HEVC encoded videos (not 10 years old hardware), and preferably more (VP9, AV1, for future proofing)

The main use will be to watch content (movies, series, videos) from YouTube and Jellyfin, and sometimes some other apps if they're not enforcing the Play Integrity API

So far I've searched some OS and I'm considering LineageOS or /e/OS, with /e/OS looking better in terms of privacy. Don't want google to track everywhere I go and everything I do.

Any recommendations for good cheap hardware with bootloader unlocking, and recommendations for a good Android ROM?

Let's say I use some AGPL software like Mastodon or Gitea. If I write a script to interact with some elements, like a nodejs script that interacts with the messages posted to act as an antispam, is it considered derivative work?

If I use a custom theme, does it have to be AGPL? If I add an overlay over the interface or interact with Mastodon through JS, does it have to be AGPL?

For Gitea, if I make a script to scrap some visual elements and send it by email to some people, does it have to be AGPL?

For an email software like Mailcow, if I write an antispam script that communicates with Mailcow's API, does it have to be AGPL?

I'm looking for a Signal messenger community. The only really active one currently is the lemmy.ml one, but I'm banned from there.

I'm looking to avoid blahaj.zone or other authoritarian and strict instances

Would be glad if someone is willing to crosspost or share content somewhere else

Wanting to learn a bit more about it and discuss with people to know what they think about it

[-] Electricd@lemmybefree.net 34 points 2 months ago

I was surprised they didn't remove the thread

But then I understood

They ban everyone that accuses them of censoring, or being tankies, or speaking against china and russia, and they keep their tankies' comments so people are convinced

People can’t be bothered to run better messaging apps. Expecting them to change OS is crazy

Source code & userscript here: https://git.disroot.org/Electricd/LemmyDiscloseModIdentities

This userscript reveals mod and admin names in Lemmy instances' modlogs

Only works on some compatible instances which did not enable the "Hide mod names from modlog" setting

At the time of writing, some known compatible instances are:

  • lemmy.world
  • lemmynsfw.com
  • lemmy.ca
  • lemmy.blahaj.zone
  • beehaw.org
  • lemmybefree.net
  • maybe a lot more, I didn't test many
