That is not the issue, we are having issues with our cloudflare account and our S3 bucket, we are in contact with support and working on a fix. You are making wild assumptions.
Hopefully sometime today
I remember seeing that happen, OP tweeted like months later saying "The Garfield shirt is STILL my most requested item for more photos" lmao
No, it's furry porn
downvotes aren't meant to be used as "I don't like this entire community's posts" if you don't like a community, then block it, rather than downvoting a post that is in an appropriate community that the people subscribed to that community will like
I think there's merit to cross-posting, and until I see an egregious misuse of it I don't want to police users too much, I put this rule into place because I did see a ridiculous amount of posts in single communities. I'll talk with the other admins and see what their opinion is though.
You're also fine because your posts are to different communities and are often varied, you're actually a good example of posting a lot without it being spam IMO
I appreciate that, yours isn't actually that bad, there was someone who posted literally 40+ images in 40+ posts in the same community. Not only that but there were photos of the same image set split across several different posts
Just a reminder that it is ok to propose different solutions and also disapproval of the change here, we know this is not a perfect solution.
I agree with you for the most part but the issue is with that is that because of size of this instance, pretty much all the communities here are about the size of niche reddit subs. That's why I said for the time being. In the future we may re-enable downvotes once communities grow.
Additionally we mods and admins have expressed that we wish downvote disabling had more granularity, like limiting downvotes to those subscribed to a community or something like that so that those who are interested in something can shape their community, but unfortunately that doesn't exist at this time.
I understand what you're saying, and while I personally like downvotes I've also seen how posters who fully fit the topic of a community are discouraged from posting because they were downvoted by people outside of the community
Moderators have talked about this for a few weeks now, this decision won by a majority after we got several complaints.
If something doesn't fit a community that can be brought up to the mods in a post and a discussion can be had. However as of right now, with the size of this instance and to promote more growth downvotes haven't really been helpful.
Yes unfortunately our Cloudflare has been locked in some way, meaning we are unable to make payments on it. Our b2 bucket (which is where all the photos for the site were stored) was hosted on cloudflare and is now locked behind a paywall that we cannot pay for some reason. We have contacted cloudflare support to try and get access again.
In the meantime even when it gets fixed we are NOT going back to cloudflare’s B2 bucket service, so we made another b2 bucket with a separate service and we’re waiting for access to the old one so that we can transfer all the existing data into the new bucket.
We're doing everything we can to try and get access to the old storage, but we haven't heard back from cloudflare yet. As for now, the new service allows us to backup our data so even if something were to happen to our photo storage again, we won't lose our photos in this way again.
Sorry for the inconvenience, this was really unexpected and frustrating for us aswell
