Absolutely true, and tbf, the articles are 80% written well. It's the headline creators trying to get eyeballs that are most to blame. I'll the read the headline and sometimes it doesn't even pertain to the article or the article was written by AI. They know that most people only read the headline.

I mean, trump got reelected. I hope it's the flouride.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago

I agree, which is why if it has trump in the title and conjecture, don't click on it. They want the money and trump is their money train.

I understand why NYT didn't lay off their newsroom, the transition happened long ago. It's extremely biased if you look at it everyday. WaPo had good articles, but obviously mid-life-crisis guy won't let that continue.

Freeze

Another response to danger is your body hitting the pause button altogether. The freeze response involves becoming immobilized or “freezing” in response to a threat. This can involve a state of paralysis or being unable to move. It’s thought that this response might have evolved as a way to avoid being noticed by a predator or to remain still in the hopes that the threat will pass by.

I would suggest emailing improv groups around you to see if you could join a class that's supportive. Make sure to ask the teacher ahead of time so you can get a feel for if they'd be good for you or not and if they're willing to work with you. If you could take a friend that's interested as well, that would help for you to work with someone you trust.

Damn, 35,000 in full regalia would be a sight to see. I hate the reason, but would love to see it.

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works -4 points 6 days ago

Lol, what are you talking about?

[-] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 8 points 6 days ago

This might be true, but this article has no data and just opinions. If you were to ride your car along Aurora Ave in Seattle, then Seattle is poor af.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the family said in a statement. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

Jones was arguably the most versatile pop cultural figure of the 20th century, perhaps best known for producing the albums Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad for Michael Jackson in the 1980s, which made the singer the biggest pop star of all time. Jones also produced music for Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer and many others.

Males of the four Ptiloris species, a group within the birds of paradise native to Australia and New Guinea, have long fascinated biologists as well as female birds with their courtship displays. A male repeatedly fans out dark satiny wing feathers into a curved arc. He sways his head rhythmically and opens his mouth to a soundtrack of short, sharp thwacking sounds.

The details of solar’s expansion are even more surprising

Not every country is riding the solar power rocket to the sun just yet. Individual countries have seen peaks and dips in solar installations based on how well their economies are doing and how strong their policy incentives are, like feed-in tariffs, net metering, and tax credits.

In the past couple of years, the global story has really been about China. Add up every solar panel installed in the US in history and you get how much China installed last year alone, almost 60 percent of all new solar installed in the world. The sheer scale of this deployment broke a lot of forecasters’ models.

It might be for just my instance, not sure.

"The decision to end the cooperation agreement was taken in December 2023 when CERN's Council passed a resolution "to terminate the International Cooperation Agreement between CERN and the Russian Federation, together with all related protocols and addenda, with effect from 30 November 2024; To terminate ... all other agreements and experiment memoranda of understanding allowing the participation of the Russian Federation and its national institutes in the CERN scientific programme, with effect from 30 November 2024; AFFIRMS That these measures concern the relationship between CERN and Russian and Belarusian institutes and do not affect the relationship with scientists of Russian nationality affiliated with other institutes." The cooperation agreement with Belarus will come to an end on 27 June, before the Russian one ends."

Note: I haven't used any of these, I can't speak for them. I do think it's cool for the environment and people on a budget though.

The trust document sets out what will happen to ownership of the media assets upon Murdoch’s death: His voting share will be transferred to the four oldest children. That could lead to a scenario in which the children are fighting over the future of the media assets. Fear of that outcome seems to have motivated Rupert Murdoch to seek this change to the trust.

Although Lachlan is now the chair of News Corp. and executive chair and CEO of Fox Corporation, the children have already aired some of their disagreements over the political direction of the media companies. For example, James and his wife have criticized Fox’s move to the right. Murdoch may well see this as a threat to the company’s business model, which caters to a conservative audience.

A geyser in Yellowstone's Biscuit Basin suddenly and violently exploded at about 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday because of a hydrothermal explosion underground, sending debris and boiling water and steam showering down on the area.

Some of these pieces of rock were up to 3 feet in diameter and weighed more than a person, according to an update from Yellowstone National Park and the United States Geological Survey.

In the three-month study, the healthy participants increased their daily dietary fibre intake by 10 grams, which is equivalent to about four apples or 3 deciliters of oatmeal. To study the significance of the increased fibre intake, gut bacteria were collected at the beginning and the end of the study. These gut bacteria were then transplanted into mice which were fed a low-fiber Western diet. In the group of animals transplanted with intestinal bacteria from the beginning of the study, the researchers observed damage of the mucus layer. The opposite was seen in the group with increased consumption of dietary fibres, where the mucus layer looked fine.

"The result highlights the significant role that dietary fibre has for our intestinal bacteria, which in turn contributes to maintaining the important mucus barrier," says Rachel Feeney, Doctoral student at the Department of Molecular Biology at Umeå University.

My friends keep begging me to go swimming at this location. I've been told by locals that it's not a wise decision. I was wondering how I can tell? I don't think it's about bacteria, but more there are a ton of boats, planes and former industrial waste in the area. Can I tell from these tests?

It is Lake Union A522 if it doesn't link properly. Also, click all of the boxes to see the data and put in May through now to check the test.

FYI, I've seen people swimming there, they seem like tourists though.

I noticed you all were kind of against the White part of the name, I agree. I changed it to wacky, but we could take out the wacky altogether and call it People Twitter, any thoughts?

I'm not changing anything else. I'm going to watch for trolling, but that's about it. I hope you all keep having fun with it, I'm not really going to post much. I wanted to keep it here if we could, that's it.

Hit me up if you really want to mod. Kersploosh is great about accommodating everyone.

Edit: What do you all think of this as the banner? The white will just blend with the background. It's all the ideas for the name. I think it's funny, but you may not.

Edit 2: It will only blend with the background if you're in light mode. That might defeat dark mode. Maybe I'll just skip it.
