Because a tiny bit of the top right square is missing, making the game invalid.

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 18 points 1 month ago

That’s horse dong from a knight that went OOB.

[-] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 month ago

Ah yes, the Horse Dong Gambit.

[-] Grey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 month ago

I'm thinking it's a really fat square hollow bishop

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 5 points 1 month ago

Don't put your dong in that.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

I'm gonna do it

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

The black king is going to do an en passant.

[-] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

Because it's White's move.

[-] MRLimcon@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 month ago

The queen is in love with the other king

[-] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago

The black bishop is standing up on the ropes, about to do a sweet jump

It's because the chess worm in the upper right corner forbids it. The chess worm is the real king, and the king piece you think you have checked is merely an illusion it is projecting.

Praise the Shai-Hulud!

[-] Ziglin@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

The King can just walk along further to left and up/down. I can't believe how often people forget that the board is just a 2d projection of a torus…

It’s not gay if it’s in a three way.

[-] OmegaLemmy@discuss.online 10 points 1 month ago

The queen is secretly in an affair with the black king

[-] Shawdow194@fedia.io 10 points 1 month ago

Because its whites turn

[-] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 8 points 1 month ago

That's because White King invited Black King to a special party involving the Queen, a ménage à trois.

[-] WhiteRabbit_33@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Lesser known chess move like en passant. When you get into the ménage à trois board state you're forced to immediately stop the game and eiffel tower with your opponent and any 3rd party. Whoever cums first loses.

[-] callyral@pawb.social 8 points 1 month ago

because you didnt take the king yet

[-] nagaram@startrek.website 6 points 1 month ago

BBC from a distant corner!

Oh no the white queen is getting blacked!

He brought a CUCK CHAIR it's over folks!

[-] Ghost33313@beehaw.org 6 points 1 month ago

The tardis is just one square to the left.

[-] apotheotic@beehaw.org 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

This is actually the ceasefire position. They are deliberating on peace talks. The queen is mediating, and even though she may not be impartial, she is generally well liked among both sides.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Google en kingsant

[-] NewDark@lemmings.world 3 points 1 month ago

[-] Binette@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago
