At least this is the vegan option. They used to be made from cat snouts.

I think you misunderstood what people meant when they talked it being part of a pussy

How do they make it red though?

(I'm currently using a Dell)

Hey, dells used to be decent. I thing my latitude 5290 is a better investment then a x280 (since it has upgradable ram and practically same build quality).

With great sacrifice, comes great responsibility..

[-] cmgvd3lw@discuss.tchncs.de 15 points 2 weeks ago

Earlier they made it using Clit.

[-] cRazi_man@lemm.ee 3 points 2 weeks ago

Is that why I can't seem to find it on my laptop? Skill issue?

[-] veroxii@aussie.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

Before woke computing. /s

[-] yesman@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

The people who call it that just appreciate how easy it is to find.

My wife says: Yes!

I wish I could stick one of these in my desktop keyboard.

A fully mechanical keyboard with a nub between W and S so that I can play videogames with a joystick and a mouse, for superior aiming AND moving.

Maybe I could design and print a WASD(QE) section/assembly with custom keycaps with a gap and install a nub as a mod.

[-] nonfuinoncuro@lemm.ee 5 points 1 week ago

I used to have a desktop keyboard with the nipple in the traditional middle of the keyboard configuration so your fingers could stay on the home row but something about it was off maybe the acceleration or something I'm sure I could've fixed it in software if I were smarter but it never just worked like the Thinkpad ones

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I would be fine with just having pressure sensitive WASD keys to control my speed beyond forward and forward but faster/slower, depending on what shift does. It's insane how much a keyboard with pressure sensitivity costs tho. It might be cheaper to build my own.

Wouldn't it be 'simple' with hall effect sensors? Those seem to be pretty commonplace nowadays.

[-] Damage@feddit.it 7 points 2 weeks ago

If only it were so eco friendly

[-] tehWrapper@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Not leaving home row for the win

Thinkpads used to be quality machines, but my last two laptops broke after just a year. One was keyboard, other was mouse pad.

Is it really that hard to put quality components in parts that are physically touched a lot?

Im going for some other brand next time but they all kind of suck now it seems.

[-] Allero@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago

It's not hard, but the more laptop lasts, the longer it will take before you buy a new one.

[-] Jumpingspiderman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

My 2017 MacBook pro, the shittiest MacBook version of the 21rst century, functioned well and was my primary computer until a couple months ago.

[-] Allero@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Good to know!

Currently I run a secondhand Dell Latitude, it was well cared for and is in a great condition, even the battery capacity sits at 94%. Runs Linux like a charm. Couldn't be happier about it and hope it lasts me a while.

[-] Charlxmagne@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Frameworks are the only good worthy successor imo.

[-] Liz@midwest.social 1 points 2 weeks ago

I got a framework, which is built around quality parts, repairability, and upgradeability. Theoretically it's the last laptop I will ever buy.

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

I liked the concept but the reviews have not been amazing. I hope you like it, because I would love to have one if its actually good.

[-] Liz@midwest.social 1 points 1 week ago

No complaints so far! What did the reviews say? I'm using a 16 with the graphics module.

[-] FQQD@lemmy.ohaa.xyz 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'm not that familiar with newer ThinkPads as I only ever used a L540 and a T420, but can't you just replace the trackpad or keyboard if it breaks?

[-] Tanuki@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

100% worth it for the keyboard nipple!

[-] WraithGear@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I prefer the nub over the track pad any day of the week.

Specially on Wednesday, my dudes

[-] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Wednesday clearly isn't a day of the week, so you can infer a "no."

I don't understand why computers need G-spots
