Arguably the biggest breakthrough for the PlayStation 3 modding scene was the discovery that Sony was fixing YLOD on backwards compatible PS3 systems by swapping in a 40nm RSX. These are the cooler running GPU's found in the PS3 Slim! And after the use of a mod chip, and reverse engineering efforts, it was eventually possible for anyone to replicate the job. Albeit with the right tools and skills, but the Frankenstein mod was born. But, there are indeed still some official PS3 frankie consoles out there, and today we're gonna take a look at one.
