Trying again, huh?
It's reddit
You can shake your fist and shout at clouds, but you won't get anywhere
You're not the only one who has been there, and it's shit, but it's done. Let it go, or pick the scab, either way, they don't care.

last post didn’t have the warning….
but you’re right, reddit is a fractal of garbage, and why i don’t use it much anymore.
smaller subs can still be cool though….
I got permanently banned across my accounts for saying "bad bot" to a nazi
I'm device blocked now
It's just not worth hanging on to
Digg is coming back, so maybe that's an option
I’m device blocked now
This only applies if you use their shitty app, anything else uses a combo of cookies + Fingerprint and IP. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to scare you out of or dissuade ban evasion. Use Tor or Mullvad Browser with a proxy and you cripple most of their automated checks.
I'm a Luddite
I don't even have an internet connection at home
I have no clue how to do any of that stuff
I definitely appreciate the advice though!
That makes sense. I just wanted to share that piece of info since it's a common bit of misinformation that people share around without realizing (and also Reddit mods unfortunately share around intentionally).
Thanks!
One day I might be able to work it all out
I haven't bothered trying to work around things, because what I post is pretty distinctive...
is that still owned by Kevin Rose? i feel like he had some integrity
Have a look and see if it might work for you
Lemmy is a pale imitation, and reddit is poison
i don’t want to trade one corporate social media for another… i believe in decentralized but lemmy does have a ways to go…
also, your username makes me want to not do anything you say
Could you also post the comment that got you banned, as per guidelines?
damn… sorry, no i don’t want to link my reddit account to this one.
i understand if you remove this post too…
I see. Well I won't remove just yet, but it's not going to be easy to pass judgement, as people might feel you could be misrepresenting the situation.
thanks…
You mean the subreddit and not !blackpeopletwitter@lemmy.world , right?
Ah the comm seems dead/locked
yes, that’s why i put the r/… but i’ll edit the post for clarity
it would be indistinguishable from standard racism….
my money is on, fake as fuck and modded by actual white racists
There's a video by F.D Signifier ("Spike Lee tried to warn us...") where he talks about contextual use:
these communities did not turn a blind eye, or forget how these individuals behaved and how their actions hurt other black people.
Thus within those communities, these minstrel actors-or moreover-black people that embody that minstrel aesthetic and ideology by trying to ingratiate themselves to white people at the expense of black people... were often forced to carry the names of these characters
I'm not part of that community (nor do I even look at Reddit anymore) so you could be right, though.
yeah it’s sad… i think it was made out of revenge for whitepeopletwitter
i think it was made out of revenge for whitepeopletwitter
r/whitepeopletwitter was created almost 3 months after, though I was not commenting on the entire communities.
weird…
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
All posts should follow this basic structure:
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.
