Individualism in terms of freedom and charting your own course is fine but not in terms of im not going to contribute to society if im successful and society is not going to make sure its a clean and livable place to live where no one is in poverty with enough to eat, shelter, education, and medical care.
Cure?
This assumes a disease. Nice jingoism, and hypocrisy.
Everyone is an individual, the west is at least honest about it.
We're gonna need you to stop using roads, municipal water, electricity, internal combustion engines.
Basically if you didn't build it yourself, stop using it. Let me know how rugged individualism and not needing anyone works out for you.
Dude, if you were reading between the lines any harder you'd... shit, I ran out of metaphor.
The West:tm: when you are really only talking about UK-descended cultures.
I happen to like my individualist worldview and don't think it needs curing.
Excellent Reads
Are you tired of clickbait and the current state of journalism? This community is meant to remind you that excellent journalism still happens. While not sticking to a specific topic, the focus will be on high-quality articles and discussion around their topics.
Politics is allowed, but should not be the main focus of the community.
