Well, time to get some very inflamiatory deepfakes of Elon out there, then

[-] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 37 points 1 month ago

To what end? There's undoctored footage of him throwing a heil hitler and nothing happened. You could show a deepfake video of him raping an octogenerian and people would go "Woo look at him destroying granny's pussy" rather than decry him for the vile bag of pus he is.

The video of Trump sucking his toes was peak comedy though

[-] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 month ago

Those videos are ones he's okay with and actually improve his stance in the base.

Show deep fakes of him getting the COVID vaccine or giving the vaccine and see where that takes you.

You have to have him doing something woke. Like treating his trans child with human decency.

[-] entwine413@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

That's a bit hyperbolic, don't you think?

There are so many things that would be more damaging to his reputation than doing the things that the Republican base loves.

[-] QuincyPeck@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

True. You could generate videos of him being kind and helpful to people less fortunate.

[-] entwine413@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

Exactly. Maybe a video of him donating to Obama's campaign.

This is what "you cannot destroy the master's home with the master's tools" refers to. More misinformation isn't going to help even if it is well intentioned.

They want to be able to use deepfakes to influence elections and harm candidates.

Doesn't sound evil at all! /s

If you really want to know why Musk would do that, this video by Benn Jordan sheds a lot of light on what's been going on with Musk and Twitter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ5XN_mJE8Y

TLDW: Musk wants to expand his (and putin's) disinformation empire to control what you hear and think.

[-] LordWiggle@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

Time to make a lot of Musk deepfakes. His feelings always get hurt when he's made fun of

[-] Ilixtze@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

Hey babe it's time for another American millionaire destroying any law that regulates American millionaires.

[-] Panamalt@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 month ago

This should be incredibly fucking concerning, and yet it's become about as interesting as dropping a penny in the parking lot, which is honestly even more concerning.
