Same thing happened in 2016. He got a few things done the first 2 years (the big tax cut was the main thing), then the Democrats got the House back in 2018 and he accomplished very little. Both impeachments happened after 2018.

John Wayne played so many characters named "John" or "Duke." So many that I just tried to count how many roles and I lost track. I counted twice and got two different numbers, but I believe my final tally is 39 roles where his character had at least one of those 2 names.

EDIT: Final tally:

36 - "John" or "Johnny"

3 - "J" first initial, no full name given

5 - "Duke"

Bruce Almighty? His most memorable role.

The lights are fun when you're drunk.

You leaving off the weirdest part. They played Ave Maria twice, once for each time an audience member feinted. Then he requested it a 3rd time and specified he wanted the Pavarotti version this time.

I remember my entire life up before this Haitian thing, Republicans would always say "we like legal immigrants, we want fewer illegal immigrants." Even though they would actively try to reduce the number of new legal immigrants too. Now they're full on supporting deporting the legal immigrants too.

You'd think that would be alarming for anyone whose parents weren't born here, but it barely seems to register.

Rocky? Rocky 2-4? Slap Shot (1977) is fantastic.

For basketball I'd say Hoosiers (1986) is good. For American Football? Jerry Maguire (1996).

What are the best soccer, cricket, or racing movies?

Depends on how much Star Trek we've been watching lately.

Simpsons did it!

"Well, frankly, test scores like Larry's would call for a very generous contribution. For example, a score of 400 would require a donation of new football uniforms, 300, a new dormitory, and in Larry's case, we would need an international airport."

None, and I can offer proof:

  • The Taking of Pelham 123 (1974) the crime was committed without cell phones, but in the 2009 remake with Denzel Washington they had cell phones and still chose to commit the crime.

  • The Manchurian Candidate (1962) we have a political assassination without cell phones. But in the 2004 remake with Denzel Washington the cell phones do not stop the criminals from being criminals.

  • Man on Fire (1987) the crime is a kidnapping. Then in the 2004 remake (with Denzel) again we see the same kidnapping is still committed with cell phones.

You add cell phones and Denzel Washington to the situation, and seems like nothing much changes.

Reminds me of Futurama, "we all have commercials in our dreams" scene.

Leela: Didn’t you have ad’s in the 20th century?

Fry: Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio. And in magazines. And movies. And at ball games and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts and written on the sky. But not in dreams. No siree!

I'm guessing they shift around a lot, turning their body the way people turn the controller on a sharp turn.

Americantall.com is where I've been buying from recently. Do you have another option? ' I'm 6'4" and 200 pounds. A typical large is too short. XL and XXL is wider and not longer. I need a place to order a Large X-Long.
