...The fact that people need this pointed out to them is concerning.
It seems obvious because there are no obvious upsides to it. One of the scenarios in sci-fic is, the people with enhancements out-compete non-enhanced people, making it hard not to get one if you can afford it. You, of course, can never trust the likes of Musk and Zuck to put such things in your head, but would you have any viable/attractive choices when such a scenario pans out? Easy life vs. hard but free life.
An analogous example nowadays is, would you take steroids to compete as a pro athlete if you can get away with it, even with all its downsides?
It really is. It seems so straight forward and obvious.
Probably 2 decades minimum premature, but important to address.
Nice to have authorities being premature instead of late as usual. Plus education require time, so you can't warn people too soon I believe.
It was so embarrassing watching the dinosaurs running the US government interview Zuck over privacy when they had no idea how Facebook as a business worked. We really need a tech task force that consists of people who are computer-literate.

Autism-fueled oversharing for me! \o/
So NASA figured out how to read the vocal vibrations of thoughts and Wifi 802.11bf can measure our blood pressure. Just need the right software to put them together imo
So we have other issues

So we are actually going to need tinfoil hats huh
From what NASA disclosed I propose "Faraday scarfs", more fashionable
I am pretty sure you're describing chainmail...
Lol, love the future fashion
god that's terrifying
Okay, but if it lets me start my coffee maker by just thinking about it, I don't see a down side.
Sure, you'll get that... Along with ads for coffee subscriptions.
Yeah thanks for the warning. I was about to put a computer chip in my brain with no concerns about privacy.
Always use adblock, dns filter and malware scanners. Also check your privacy settings regularly and inspect network traffic to your "Smart Brain" (I just invented the term).
I imagine scenarios where you can't get rid of annoying advertisements everywhere, even in your dreams. Or people being remote controlled. Or their bank accounts emptied.
However, this currently is just science fiction.
I could see that. Implanting AI chips in your brain doesn't seem like a great idea.
GrapheneOS for brain should be coming in a few decades, eh?
And it will be mediocre and with half the functionality and apps.
I can't even imagine this being something you'd want to do. Sounds terrifying!
What about cyberpsychosis? That's a real concern in 2077 as far as I have been informed.
Imagine you early adopted Neuralink before Edolf went mask off and then introduced ads and now all you hear all day long is Kanyes voice chanting: “Elon macht frei.”
I'm sure most people will heed this warning with the utmost seriousness.
Thanks UN, very cool!
UN also warns that the ocean presents a drowning hazard and that being hit by a speeding car can be harmful. News at 11.
This comment is here why?
Stating other obvious things, I'd guess.
People here don't seem to realize how dumb people are. Most don't care about their privacy at all, and the usage of meta testifies that. They won't actually consider that their privacy is at risk from brain implants, without educating them we'll get another meta situation
