Tbh, Ripley and Sarah are legit badasses. I mean, Ripley was stuck on a spaceship with a penis monster that murders like it breathes, and she made sure to go back for the cat. Sarah Connor basically had to live the ultimate mindfuck of getting your son instantiating his own existence by sending his best boy back in time to save you from a time travelling murderbot, only for everyone to gaslight you about all of it and call you a crazy and dangerous lunatic for trying to stop the end of the world, and then proceeded to keep her shit together through years in the psych ward and hit the ground running and lay her shit 100% on the line when it was time to fuck up more robots. Sarah Connor was THE ride or die bitch, and I'll poke the eyes out of anyone who calls her woke.
We went through a little wave of slop there where a bunch of the heroines were ridiculously OP Mary Sue types that were, frankly, just not very interesting because it never really felt like they could be challenged. It seems like we're pretty much over that, though, and we're finally getting back around to interesting heroines that can actually be challenged.
