Chin stubble is my hand’s scratching post.
Nope

I do not even understand why would you do it
Weirdly it makes it a loss less itchy and feels so good
loss less itchy
I too only take my itchiness in FLAC
I wonder if it's in the saliva.
Damn my dick is itchy 😳
Hawk
I don’t even understand what she’s doing. Biting herself as a distraction? Scratching her palm with her teeth? I don’t know anyone who does this.
Sometimes scratching just isn't cutting it, and the human brain is...well it's something and it tells me bite the itch cause teeth are stronger and you try and it doesn't help.
The nails... They tickle.... The itch is deeper, towards the bone... USE YOUR TEETH.
Oh, but it does. It helps soooo much. Something about the pinpoint pressure in just the right spot just hits so good… But you can’t just keep biting it forever, and generally the itch comes back again soon after.
Well based on votes I’m in the minority. Never heard of this. Whatever works!
It's so itchy you bite it to make that spot painful just for a bit to override the itchiness.
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE???
But seriously though there's something about a palm being itchy, especially the thicker pad where the hand begins to transition into the wrist that just is so much more persistent than anywhere else.
Why would I lie? I o, heck yeah!
My palms do itch so much.
puts itching powder on the small of your back
oh the old make something else worse to relieve the first thing. Don't know if it will help. Its been itchy like that since puberty.
Old puritan folklore had it that masturbating would cause hair to grow on one's palm and the intense itching was a sign that someone was doing the deed. Which called for a whooping.
And the whooping is supposed to make me... stop?
Depends.....are they wearing leather?
But I do a little gnarl and you don't.
I do, and I'm not even ashamed of it.
People have itchy palms? Itchy enough that they bite them?
That's fucking weird.
That's literally never happened to me, it sounds super strange. Are y'all putting stuff on your hands that's tearing up your skin? Do you moisturize regularly?
I have sensitive skin, but spend a lot of time in a kitchen with wet hands. Unscented soap to wash my hands about a dozen times a day, and unscented moisturizer to keep my skin from cracking. I'll use a thicker waxy moisturizer during the winter when it's really dry out.
I use my hands for weightlifting and golf, so I have to manage my callouses, and in the kitchen I'll pick up various small cuts and burns. My hands don't look perfect but they've never.. itched?
Your comment makes you seem shocked like a victorian era man seeing a woman's bare ankle in public.
I don't know why, but ok?
Itchy palms sounds more like an allergic reaction than a common issue.
That's a good example of what i mean. Allergic reactions are common issues.
It's normal to not have an itch and it's normal to itch. Both can be true simultaneously and neither is weird.
Granted it's a comment on Lemmy but at a larger scale this kind of incredulous comment can reinforce stigmas.
Only after cutting up bell peppers without using gloves. The stabbing itch from that is unlike anything else I know.
Difficult with my feet.
That's why you do it with your teeth.
Weirdo.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
Rules
-
😇 Be Nice!
- Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
-
🏘️ Community Standards
- Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
- Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
- Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
- Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
-
🧬 Keep it Real
- Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
-
📽️ Credit Where Credit is Due
- Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
- Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
-
📋 Post Formatting
- Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
- Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
- When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
✅ Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
-
📬 Post Frequency/SPAM
- Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 🖐) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 🖐) will be removed.

🍿 Moderation
- We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
- When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists
The following artists are banned from the community.
- Jago
- Stonetoss
It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.
Web Accessibility
Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.
When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:
Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)
