With the recent posting of some more varied mediums of news media, it seems to be drawing some reports. There's no rule against it, and so far I don't see it as an issue personally (except for images, I feel they are harder to verify legitimacy) but I'm not the only user here.

How would you all as a community like to rule on this?

I think if the source itself is valid, then it should stay.

This community has been very useful for me to track on what is going on at each half hour, we don't need a completely new article to explain every new event in a boiling conflict.

Oh that was probably me. I didn't actually look to see if it was a rule here, because most news communities already have it.

Images definitely shouldn't be allowed, because they're just not reliable sources. Even if it's a screenshot of an AP story, it doesn't let us read the actual story. For all we know, it could be completely fabricated. And it's not accessible to people using screen readers or whatever.

Video news I don't really like, I just prefer text. As long as it's a reputable source, not some random non-credible person on youtube. Especially in the US, local affiliates of national news networks like to just clip their broadcasts and post them as articles.
